UF, that's a really, really good idea, to tell stories in your head--I definitely need to try that when I can't sleep. I am amazed by essential workers such as yourself (my brother is one as well)-- just the scariness of having to go out into the world.

^ Thank you! <3 I've missed you guys...I've worked 131 hours in the past 2 weeks, 70 this week alone, and haven't had much time for anything else. I know how very lucky I am to have a job, and the busy season will die down soon, but I feel out of the loop!

I agree about it being a dark time in the U.S., and I sure hope some reforms happen soon...

Boy is it cold in Florida...even inside my home is cold. I think it's cold everywhere...it's January.

It was bitterly cold here in Tennessee yesterday and actually, the day before it snowed (it all melted the same day though). I haven’t had to step outside yet this morning but my phone says it’s currently 30 degrees out. Brr!!!

I didn't get to watch all of the Inauguration things, but we watched a little. We watched the 30-min. or so Press Secretary first briefing, and it felt great to have a competent administration.

I usually work in the morning, but I happened to be off on Wednesday so I was able to watch the whole ceremony. It was really wonderful, I felt so relieved and proud. I welled with tears. It’s going to be weird going back to “normal” though— Joe Biden was President all day long yesterday and didn’t set the world on fire with some stupid tweet! I’m not used to that anymore!

I watched the Press Secretary, too. Just hearing the voice of someone actually there to do their job and answer questions rather than to start fights with random reporters was pretty nice.

Antipodean I am I was sleeping during the US Inauguration but I saw the pictures and read Biden’s speech and what an assurance to wake up to

The opposition Biden is dealing with has me concerned for America but there is impressive work happening
