Ok. So pretend I'm Mr. Potato Head, Woody is Pixar, Slinky Dog is the Golden Globe Awards and you get...

While I like "Brave" and think it is a good movie, it is by far amongst the weakest of the nominees. It winning at the Globes is a joke, both "Wreck-It Ralph" and "Rise of the Guardians" are by far the stronger movies. At least Afflecks win diviated my attention from "Braves" farce of a win. Hopefully the Academy gets it right, but they're already on the wrong foot with me by not nominating Affleck.

If I could somehow award the look on Taylor Swift's face during Adele's speech I totally would. That was the best jealous face in history.

You just know she was praying for Kanye to come on and tell everyone Taylor had the best song of all time.

Anyway, congrats to Brave. Was hoping somehow Brenda Chapman would have been there. It was very awkward when he thanked her for coming up with the story. At least she won as well.

No point for the award in 2013, Monsters U already won. I see now why Jeffrey Katzenberg was promoting Guardians for award attention last year. With Pixar's fix, you got to do ALL you can to try & compete! DIsney learned a long time ago about Pixar: If you can't beat'em, Buy'em!
I understand that u think 2013's animation movies will be weaker than 2012, but i don't understand y think monster university is going to win. I think you forgot about Frozen...

WDAS has never won a major award. Why would they start winning them next year?

And besides, that caveman movie looks really good. :o Even if the CAVEMEN sound like stupid teenagers.

exactly. that's y. dont u see. that is a strength, since people would think they deserve it after all they've done with animation history.

I might have been upset about Brave winning if the Golden Globes weren't a complete joke.

I highly doubt Brave will be winning the Oscar. It will probably be Frankenweenie. Personally, I'm rooting for ParaNorman.

If the Golden Globes are a joke, then so too are the Oscars really.

These awards are all nonsense anyway, only good for trivia. I have heard that some of the voters don't even watch all the films in question and just vote for whatever, this seems very plausible.

Guys, I just remembered this: We fall forgot about Paperman. It is hands-down going to win Best Animated Short, so this will be the first major award in years! Plus, Pixar lost its spot to the Simpsons, how embarrassing!

Pixar didn't submit any shorts for consideration this year so they didn't lose anything.

Even if that's true, it's certainly not to the same extent.

The Golden Globes are voted by only 93 members of HFPA who are journalists working in the entertainment industry. There aren't any other criteria and many of them don't even have any film-related background or knowledge.

For the Oscars there are approximately 6,000 members who vote (which is by invitation only) from virtually every field of film production. Each category is voted on by members of their Academy branch, so cinematographers vote on cinematographers, directors vote on directors, and so on. The only category all Academy members nominate for is Best Picture.

Yes, it's true. They must have thought that Parysaurus Rex didn't stand a chance and preferred to just submit Paperman in this category.

I'm not sure whether other Pixar shorts such as The Legend of Mor'du or Time Travel Mater were even eligible.

So, for those wondering why Brenda Chapman wasn't at the Golden Globes. Well, according to her, she wasn't invited:
@micahhirsh @MisterCoat I wld have loved to attend the Golden Globes ceremonies last night-but I wasn't permitted to attend. Thx for asking
https://twitter.com/brenda_chapman/stat ... 5282914304
@gamesenlisted @mistercoat I was sad to have not been invited to attend as well. However, that doesn't take the joy out of winning. Thanks!

Wow, I am honestly horrified by this. This was her movie, which she shares directing credit on. This was her story and inspired by her relationship with her daughter and love of Scotland, for crying out loud! For her not to be allowed to attend a ceremony where her film was nominated (and ultimately won) is incredibly insulting.

It is insulting. I just can't understand why Pixar didn't invite her to this when they let her attend the premiere.

That is beyond insulting. Thanks Pixar, you've hit a new Michael Eisner type low

If that's the case, I hope Pixar's karma catches up to them. And fast.

That is, if they even have any bad karma that they can't dodge.

Totally agree with you here. I thought I was the only one to notice. I wonder if she'll write song about this. Lol, how she got "snubbed" at the globes and Oscars.

Back on topic...I'm not upset Brave won. I loved it. Some people are acting like the other films, however slightly better they may have been, lost the award to a Veggie Tales flick. It was still a great movie.

Yeah, but the other nominees were STRONGER films. That's why we're upset about it.
