The percentage for Disney and Pixar's, "Brave," on Rotten Tomatoes is rising! It could have better ratings than DreamWorks Animation's, "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted!"

All Critics: 76%
Top Critics: 82%

P.S. Here's the message from Rotten Tomatoes.
It may not live up to the lofty standards of the Pixar brand, but Brave offers young audiences and fairy tale fans a rousing, funny fantasy adventure with a distaff twist -- and surprising depth.

Hate to say I told you so...

Oh wait, no I don't. :P

I think people were way too quick to jump on the "Brave doesn't live up to standards!!!" bandwagon with the first couple reviews. I won't be surprised if it finds it's way back up into the 80s.

Disney and Pixar stepping out of their comfort zones and tackling stories that they haven't in the past doesn't equate to one turning into the other or that they're becoming "un-Disney" or even "un-Pixar".
I know, which is why I don't know why anyone would say Pixar is doing a Disney story but Disney is doing a Pixar story.

i went to see it twice today and was blown away. the opening sequence nearly had me in tears with its beauty. i love this film. its not my favourite pixar, but its certainly up there. it was nice that merida didnt have a big broadway song to perform or any annoying talking animal sidekicks.

i did see a little of brother bear in the bears movements and actions, but not enough to say it was copied growl for growl. but the inspiration was obvious.

on a side note, they showed previews for tinkerbell and the secret of the wing [?? might have wrong title.] and nemo 3d. im not sure if that preview was 3d or not, but nothing stood out and i thought it would pop with added bubbles and floaty bits in the water.

SPOILERS or possible SPOILERS are white.

Just came back from seeing it, did a bit of shopping too afterwards. I thought it was awesome (the conclusion of the spell was a little mellow in comparison to the movie). The Brother Bear reference was good too and the I Don't speak bear.

Also, wait until the very end after the credits, it hilarious. It's to do with the excessive about of wooden bear products (too many credits though).

Edit:
I got free tickets, because Hoyts had a problem when I went to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. They forgot to remove black bars from the top and bottom, but removed them during the prologue, so no real loss and the 3D was top notch there too (and also for Brave). Luckily I watched Tangled Ever After on the Disney website.
/Edit

Classic 9/10 for me.

Our cinema didn't show the Tinker Bell preview, but it has been renamed that in the last year or so from Winter Woods. Our cinema showed Ice Age 4, Finding Nemo and Madagascar 3, I have a funny feeling that Finding Nemo was shown in 2D.

I knew it was better than the Critics were saying about it.I am also happy to say I can see me and my mom going to the movies to see it.Because If you give it that high a rating it must be good.I know some Pixar fans might dismiss it because its not what Pixar usually does but at least its better than Cars 2.

Because it's their opinion, it doesn't mean that it's fact. Brave is nothing to do with Disney, it's been developed entirely at Pixar and the fact that it is a fairy tale doesn't equate to it being a Disney film or story. As far as I'm concerned, if a film is developed and produced by WDAS then it's a Disney story and the same applies for the films developed and produced by Pixar. Brave is a Pixar story, just like Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen are Disney stories.

It's nice to see that the people on the forum who have seen the film enjoyed it and have spoken so highly of it. I don't think it's released here in the UK until the end of the month so I'll have to wait a little while longer to see it but I'm feeling very optimistic and excited for Brave.

That's great and maybe it could get more good press as a result of it.I am just glad that it will hopefully get a fresh rating. It might not be Pixar's greatiest but I think its probably a good movie on its own.

I won't get into this with you, because it's pointless, but it is an actual fact that Wreck-It Ralph is indeed a Disney story, whether you like it or not.

No offense, but could you please stop bashing Cars 2? I'm so tired of everyone bashing it and saying "Brave should have been better than Cars 2". I know that everyone are allowed to entitle their opinion, but its really getting annoying that the majority of the users are constantly bashing on Cars 2. Was it really that awful?

Is it me or we're playing a game called, "Who Can Tell the Highest Percentage for Disney and Pixar's, 'Brave,' on Rotten Tomatoes?" Whoever tells the highest wins.

No it's an actual fact that after Walt died anything the company makes some people could say makes it a Disney story but it isn't necessarily a fact it is a Disney story like if they make a porno where the villain is the hero and evil defeats good but it has the Disney name so it must be a Disney story is not true.

If the Disney company made a porno, then yes it would be a Disney story. Whether or not you or anyone thinks it should be is completely irrelevant. If the Walt Disney company creates a story, then it is a fact that said story is a Disney story. Based on lawful rights to the Disney name.

Technically, since Disney distributes Pixar's movies, that makes them Disney movies.

EW gave Brave a B. Ironically they felt the weakest parts were the "Disney" style elements and they wish it had been more purely Pixar, whatever that means...

Wreck it Ralph IS a classic Disney story, just told in a modern way.

Think about it...

What do the best and most popular Disney movies have in common? An outcast/emotionally abused character that yearns for more than their provinsial life.

Belle, Cinderella, Aladdin, Pinocchio, Milo, Chicken Little and many more had that issue. What is Ralph's issue? He is tired of being a video game villain because he feels he doesn't get enough respect. In other words... HE WANTS MORE.

He may not singing an Alan Menken song about it, but he certainly feels that way. Like other Disney heroes, he sets out on a journey to discover who he is and what he is capable of. It's a classic Disney story that's presented in a modern way and with a modern subject: video games.

But we are dealing with Disney Duster logic here, so we might as well make this argument to a cat. At least he will listen :p .

But going back to Brave, good to hear the reviews are going up as it nears release. I am still keeping my expectations in check, but good to know that an original Pixar story with a female lead is doing good with critics at least.
