Although the menus look a little static maybe there is some cool animation that occurs every few minutes or so. Either way I think is looks good and will most likely be changed a little.

Love those menus. Simple but very nice. Hey Jens have you seen any specs on the Bambi Platinum Release ? I know it is coming out next year and I thought you might have heard something about it.

No I haven't Disney Guru. Disney isn't releasing anything about that release yet, probably because they want to focus on Aladdin first. But let's get back on topic ;)

Thanks a lot for the screencaps!
Well, I don't think these are the final menus... at least I don't hope they are! They look lazy and not animated. I hope Disney hasn't scrapped the animated menus because of the new navigation systems.

By the way, you can watch this new trailer (in Portuguese) on the Brazilain Disney site: http://www.disney.com.br/trailers/

OK thanks Jens I guess I will just have to wait like everybody else. I have always loved Bambi ever since I was little. Does anybody know if the Colletors Box Set for Aladdin will be made on the same order as the one For The Lion King ?

Anyone have the latest Disney Store catalog? It just came in the mail, and it has a full page devoted to the Aladdin offer. They picture a cover that is absolutely horrible. It's just like what Luke has posted on the upcoming cover arts page here, except that Jasmine and Aladdin's faces are re-drawn. Aladdin looks very goofy, and Jasmine looks hideous. She's got all this makeup on her face is comically over-drawn. It's like Jasmine's evil (and not-so-identical) twin.

Genie is still on the spine. On the front, he now has a little trail of pixie dust floating down the left side of the cover from his right hand. Abu has been made a little longer, Jasmine's hair a little shorter, and the Cave of Wonders slightly bigger. Jasmine & Aladdin's positions are slightly altered, and her dress is darkened.

The title's backdrop is the same design, but now more pink than purple. The Platinum Edition banner at the top of the cover is intact, but "First Time On DVD" has been re-added at the bottom, where the new song was advertised on the last two. Also, the two banners are more silver and less gray than they looked before.

I don't know if this an old cover, or something Disney has switched to. (It also gives a partial glimpse of the VHS cover, which has a noticeably different design). What worries me is that it's in a brand new catalog. Has anyone else seen this?

Hey, Aaron, could you scan or take photos of this catalog for us, please? :)

I just got the catalog when we went to the mall on Sunday. I was sad to see one of our better Disney Stores transformed into a kiddie store, but that's another thread...

I don't think it is that bad, but Aladdin does look goofier and younger. Jasmine just looks scary because the lines around her eyes are much darker. It might just be the picture quality in the magazine, but the whole cover looks darker than the one featured on this site. I'm in the process of scanning it right now and getting a photobucket account so I can post it.

EDIT: Okay, photobucket isn't taking new members because they're reconstrcuting the site. Unless you can post it, Aaron, everyone will have to wait for my brother to wake up so I can post it in his account  .

EDIT AGAIN: He's awake. Here it is! I'll e-mail it to you Jens so it can be on Disney Database too! :) It's not great quality since it was from a magazine. Escapay keeps saying "BUT ITS THE SAME AS LUKES!" Virtually he is right, but there are slight differences.

That cover is like the cover below with the "First time on Dvd" banner pasted on it :P Don't you think?

I offered to put it up on my server, not meaning on the Disney Database. If you want to post it there that's fine! I just wanted to give you a place where you could store the image to show it here :)

That's just the original cover art that we all first saw, but with the ugly banner slapped onto the bottom. Why's everyone acting like this is some new revision?

The pic above is the very first Aladdin cover revealed to us (DVDEmpire still hasn't updated it). Just relax, guys. This isn't the first time Disney's shown old cover art on new ads (remember how the DVD trailer for Sleeping Beauty showed the old cover art even AFTER the DVD was released?).

EDIT: Dang, Jens beat me to it. :P

uk22 wrote:I am not sure if this has been mentioned but the Aladdin Triology is being released all together, Limited Time only as usual. Uk only?

It was with my Lion King 2 dvd, on an insert.
I was so happy, even though i have preordered the aladdin collectors edition from the usa.
Will a trilogy box set of Aladdin be offered in the US ?? :?

Why does the UK get all the nice box sets ? :x

I guess I've seen so many covers that I just don't remember that being the original, but now that you've posted it, I see that you're right. Sorry to cause any panic, guys.

I still hate that cover art. But I guess it's a good thing, since it goes along with my tradition of hating Aladdin film coverart.

The VHS of the original is okay, better than the DVD, but still bugs me.

ROJ might have my favority of the trilogy, just by default, even if I still don't like it.

KOT isn't so bad, except for the fact that Sa'luk has the wrong skin color, as he does in McDonalds toy and in certain points in the film. I know the guy's forgettable, but...

AAAAAAAAhhhhhhh! I'm so sick of seeing constant changes the this cover, that I really just don't care anymore. I like how they changed it so the two banners are there, but "First Time on DVD" is just really lame! I chant really notice the changes to the caracters, but I like how the cave has been enlarged.

So I was listening to the radio, right? And all of a sudden, I hear a montage of Clay Aiken audio, followed by the words, "Disney's Aladdin Special Edition DVD Presents Clay Aiken In Concert."

:o

Talk about your promotions!! Has anyone else heard about this? Clay Aiken's new tour is actually The Aladdin Tour?? hahahahaha.

Here's an item from animated-news.com that was published last Friday regarding Disney's sponsorship of Clay Aiken's tour. I too was somewhat surprised to hear this.

Aladdin to sponser Clay Aiken's tour
In a strange new twist on the marketing business, an animated fictional character is sponsoring Clay Aiken's nationwide tour, which has just started, reports Toon Zone. Well, kind of. It seems Disney is lending financial support to the events to promote its upcoming Aladdin: Special Edition DVD, to which a new song has been added. The song, Proud Of Your Boy will also be included in a pop single version as an extra music video clip, as sung by Aiken, as part of the cross-promotion deal. "I love Clay Aiken's performance and I was knocked out by the strength of his talent", says composer Alan Menken. "To have this lost song, so dear to my heart and so vital to my collaboration with Howard Ashman, finally brought fully to life is a dream come true".
