That's great, Laz! Not only do we get to see the Gryphon and Mock Turtle.... But Alice is teaching a very important lesson! JELLO IS KING!

No matter what, Walt Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" has always been a mesmerizing bit of eye and ear candy for me. I love the film and I'm glad to see it's more popular than ever.

Let's hope that it really is. That parents didn't just buy it for the games / activities.

I forgot to get a Jello square when I went out to get Chinese food last night.

It is easy to get sick of Jello though.

I decided, based on Disneykid's review saying it was the best release to date, to get the DVD! My first time owning the film ever!!!!

I was thinking of waiting until the Blu-ray, but who knows if they'll screw up the Blu-ray?

I cannot wait to finally watch it after only having seen it as a kid. I have to find a nice, quiet time though. I may even wait till Summer. But sometime soon I will experience what I think may be the best version of Lewis Carroll's tale.

I thought about how much I want this much more than Tim Burton's Blu-ray. I don't even know if I'll get that. Maybe if Tim Burton had actually done the real story instead of a semi-sequel. Now THAT would have been fantastic. So many more cinematic, wonderful possibilities.

There's a new Alice-themed Disney World commercial.

I haven't seen new Alice animation this good since the commercial done for the Gameboy Color game back in 2000 (which I can no longer find, dang it). Funny how they use the Disneyland tea cups for a WDW ad. Still, it's delicious. More please, Disney.

Perhaps because it's easier to film the Californian teacups because there's no roof?

Anyway, nice find.

I love that animation! It's very fluid and colorful. It still can't top the original though, but it is quite lovely. Great find, Disneykid!

For those who wanted to see "Reflections on Alice" without buying the DVD, someone's put it up no YouTube. The poster added some filler to the beginning and end to make it an even 10 minutes each. The actual featurette starts at 2:04 in part one and ends at 5:45 in part two.

^Wow, David Hall's illustrations are awesome. That would've been a cool style to do the film in (looks like something Miyazaki could do) but Mary Blair's is equally as awesome.

I have the masterpiece edition and have been debating on getting the new one. What should I do? Is there ANY difference in the picture/sound?

Nope. Picture and sound are identical. It really is just the Masterpiece Edition with new sneak peeks and "Reflection on Alice" and "Pig and Pepper" taking place of the sing-alongs on disc one. The menu selections have been tweaked a bit here and there, but nothing major.

You know... I just noticed something. I'm fairly certain I've noticed it before, but it's never bugged me enough to remember it. Here's a bit of dialogue from the Tea Party sequence:

White Rabbit: Oh, my watch....
Mad Hatter: It was!?
White Rabbit: ...and it was an unbirthday present, too....
March Hare: Well, in that case....!

Doesn't it seem like the Rabbit's second line and the Hatter's are switched? Do you think it could have been put together incorrectly when using Ed Wynn's live-action reference vocal track? It just really bugs me, because it just doesn't make any sense, even for Alice in Wonderland.

It always made sense to me. I always took it as the Mad Hatter expressing surprise that the watch he just ruined belonged to the White Rabbit, hence the humor. He obviously should have known it belonged to the White Rabbit, having taken said watch from him, and... if I explain it much more, it kills it.

It's like me running over to your house and smashing your beloved pet gerbil Monsieur Fluffyhaunches with a giant novelty mallet, you saying "My gerbil!" and me replying "That was YOUR gerbil?!?!?"

That was HER gerbil?
