The main reason to join should be because you are a big Disney fan and actually want what comes with your $74 membership, which is 4 issues of the fantastic Disney Twenty-Three magazine, a certificate, membership card, and exclusive gift, which this year is a huge lithograph of Mickey's 80th anniversary portrait.

If that appeals to you, than I suggest you join. Once you are a member, you will be able to purchase the exclusive Walt Disney Treasures Premium Collection, which is a limited edition of 3,000. It comes with 27 of the treasures sets, amounting to 54 discs. The three sets that aren't included are Elfego Baca/The Swamp Fox and the two Zorro sets that aren't yet released. The set also comes with a collectible lithograph that isn't available anywhere else, and a certificate of authenticity. The total price is $499.99, making each individual treasure cost $18.50, so it really is a good deal.

To put it into perspective, if you join solely for the ability to purchase this set and add the membership fee to the price of the set, that makes each Treasure $21.25, which is still cheaper than if you bought them all individually.

I knew I'd seen that cover before! :P

Thanks, Amy.

Anyway, I find some of their choices for the movies feautred on the cover are surprising like Hocus Pocus and The Rocketeer, but it's not like that's going to upset any Disney fans. I only have issue one, and I'm still iffy about joining D-23 sometime. I'd like to, but the membership is just too steep for me right now.

I'm going to the WDW anniversary party with my boyfriend, brother and mom, who I recently gifted a membership to. I'm so excited! It sounds like a great event.

Nice!

I'm going to the WDW event, too. I'm so excited.

And still breathlessly awaiting the announcement of the next Expo. At least the newest magazine issue said that would be "soon!"
