Wow! Feels a lot like Dead Man's Chest. Don't think it holds enough interest for me to see it, but nevertheless.

OH YEAH! Now that's what I'm talkin' about!!
A Bloomless Pirates is definitely worth seeing. (and for my thoughts on KK, I don't mind her, but her character just got boring)
Looking forward to it!

I love the trailer. I wasn't fond of hearing a fourth Pirates film in production, but it looks like they nailed a tone closer to the first film (which I love). And yeah, the Pirates franchise will be just fine without Keira Knightley or Orlando Bloom.
I know this will be on my 'must-see summer films of 2011'.

It looks so fun! I think that it'll be good to have the new characters- it'll probably seem fresher (for lack of a better word right now)...?

Yes, I agree. Will and Elizabeth were alright, but they would really have no place in this film, so I'm glad they're gone. And Gibbs line "There's the Jack I know" has somewhat reassured me.

This is some news I thought that would be best put here...it's not about the movie coming up but it does feature one of the Pirates who was real. Blackbeard. They think they found his sword. I figured I'd post this instead of making a whole new thread
http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookou ... ards-sword
It's one of the latest finds aboard the remains of the ship the Queen Anne's Revenge, known at one time to be the flagship of Edward Teach, a.k.a. Blackbeard. The vessel ran aground on a North Carolina sandbar in 1718 and was abandoned; modern archaeologists have been excavating the shipwreck for more than a decade. The design and ornamentation of this newest discovery have led the researchers to believe it likely belonged to the notorious pirate himself.

I really can't help but get excited about this! Yes, it might be horrible, but it also might be awesome! And there is probably going to be more Jack!

Well.... I really did like the trailer for the fourth movie, so, my previous reservations are a little eased...
It just depends upon whether or not the story can be satisfyingly continued into a fifth installment... We shall see with the next movie, I suppose.

Oy. Well, I guess the films might be better now that Bloom and Knightley are gone, just because their characters were boring/annoying. But I'm not sure if Jack can hold a movie all by himself. Hmm.
Either way, I'm sure my family will see this. They bought the others.
And I can't remember, wasn't Efron supposed to be in this movie at one point? I'm glad it looks like he won't be, but I could swear I read something about that early on.
