Okay, this DVD business is getting ridiculous. I don't know if I should wait to see if another DVD would be released later on. I mean, Escapay brought up a good point about the deleted song sung by Edward & Nancy. It was said that it'll be in the DVD, but by the looks of it, the song is not listed as a deleted scene.

Perhaps it'll be a easter egg as well?

The easter eggs were covered, and that song was not included with them.

Is that the same one as the UK HMV disc?

Anyway, here is a review for the Blu-ray: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.ph ... how=review

Also, if the DVD gets re-released with more bonus features, will the Blu-ray too? I don't want to buy this movie four separate times. (But I know Disney would love it if I did)

Yes and DAMMIT! Disney's getting my money twice...the things I do for a bonus disc. Maybe I'll give my first copy to Kram.

And it looks like the Blu-Ray doesn't have the deleted "Enchanted" song, but the description for the D-Files sounds more interesting that I thought it would be (especially based on the promotional sneak peek on the DVD).

If you wait a week after the release, the bonus exclusive featurette will be up on YouTube and you can watch it for free.

Mmm. Crappy resolution and illegally sourced material all in one.

After looking at Ultimate Disney's list of past DVD releases, it seems that other movies like "Pirates," "National Treasure," & "Narnia" all had different DVD versions, so I'm pretty sure that by December of this year, "Enchanted" will be released as a 2-Disc Special Edition DVD, perharps containing the deleted song & maybe the D-Files feature, and other supplements. So, no matter how much it pains me, I've decided to wait and see. I know it sounds kind of stupid, but I'm not getting 2 different DVDs of the same movie that was released the same year.

BTW, what Disney is doing really isn't fair. They should have just released two versions of the DVD now. The same thing happened back in 2006 when I got the High School Musical dvd before summer started, then a week later, it was announced that in December of that year, a 2-Disc Remix edition would be released. That made me really mad.

I have no problem with that for a bonus disc that I will probably never watch more than once.

I have yet to see a bonus disc exclusive from any retailer that was genuinely worth any additional cost... especially from Wal-Mart.

I'm getting the DVD free from MovieStop after trade-ins when I pre-ordered it. Can Wal-Mart beat that deal? I don't think so.

I'm not going to double-dip on what's probably barely a 10-minute feature just to see it, especially when I'll probably be able to watch it for free online.

 True. I've become less and less of a YouTube fan the last several months.

The BestBuy bonus discs for Dead Man's Chest and At World's End come to mind as having valuable material that should have been included on the general release. AWE especially, as the BB-exclusive featurettes had more substance than half the featurettes on the two-disc.

The BBFC passed it at 30:57.

It's a sales gimmick they must've picked up from Fox (grr...). Release a modestly-supplemented single-disc now, then a features-packed dual-disc later on (to either promote something else or to generate more sales). I've always had a feeling that Enchanted would get a two-disc double-dip by Christmas, or in 2009 to tie-in with Rapunzel. Of course, I'm buying the Target exclusive regardless because I'm a bonus-disc whore (even though I despise the practice of store-exclusives in general).

Is there anything better? Well for MST3K I'm fine with it.

Does anyone know if the Target bonus disc is attached to copies ordered online? My nearest Target is about 20 minutes away, and I work that Tuesday. Target's website makes absolutely no mention of the exclusive disc, so I don't want to order this online only to find out that I'm just getting the normal disc alone as it is.

According to the Blu-Ray review, the D-Files consists of several behind-the-scenes video clips that are offered as rewards for correctly answering questions. I wonder if the BBFC/Target featurette is a combination of all these clips.

Nope, targets website is mixed with amazon.com, so all the dvds at target.com really come from amazon.com

Thanks for the heads up. I guess there's always Youtube, fuzzy resolution or not. This film is screaming for a two-disc set, so we better be getting one, even if Disney should've gotten it right the first time. My dilemma will be what happens if Disney releases a 2-disc on SD only (I plan on upgrading to Blu-Ray at the end of the year, and this film will be one of my few title upgrades). Fox's BDs have been barebones compared to many of their SD counterparts, so I hope this isn't a practice Disney will take up. I'll be ticked if the inevitable upgrade doesn't make it to BD.
