Gol, even if it won't be released ... just import the Region 1 disc and you'll be fine (and if you don't have a multi-region DVD player ... go and buy one, NOW! :P )

Hmm I live in Europe (the UK) and I have "Oliver and Company: 20th Anniversary Edition" it was released the same say as "Mary Poppins" (which was a week before Pinocchio). Is it just the UK that got this within Europe?
Maybe they're just late. Croatian editions of "Oliver & Company" and "Mary Poppins" are scheduled for an April release.

Well at 10 minutes it's at least something.

Wonder what the other bonuses will be.

Is anyone surprised it's not the melty men? Really?

Still, I look forward to seeing it. A ten minute deleted scene is pretty impressive, and almost anything else that's included is a step up from the first release. Like I always said, as long as it's anamorphic, I'll buy it.

Well, that's just dandy! T_T

I was- It's ju- GRR!!!!! THAT IS IT!!!!!!!! I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SCREWED OVER BY DISNEY IN HOPES OF SOMETHING SPECIAL!!!!!! IT'S LIKE LYING TO A KID THAT SANTA CLAUS EVEN EXISTS!!!! I HATE HAVING MY HOPES SHOT DOWN!!!!!!!

*breathes heavily* Besides. That's not deleted scenes. It's only A deleted scene. Damn it, I hate it when they do this. I am now believing that Disney is NEVER going to gain the guts to release this movie uncut, since I heard that the cut scenes might've been destroyed. :x

Thanks a bunch, Jeffrey Katzenberg. T_T

Yay for some info on the new DVD! But...

I don't think that that's going to be 9 minutes and 50 seconds of cut animation. To my knowledge (even though there are different accounts of this), only a few minutes were cut. I've read anywhere from 2 minutes to, I don't know, 10 minutes. We know that some of the footage cut was the gwythaint digging his talons into someone (I've always figured that it's Taran), and some of the deathless warriors dissolving, and of Eilonwy being partially nude, etc. Off the top of my head, I just can't remember hearing about fairfolk scenes getting cut. Could this be a few scrapped storyboards?

I mean, I never thought it'd be a whole nine-ish minute scene. I'm assuming a lot of storyboards, maybe some actual chat by some talking head, comparison to the film, etc.

If this were the early 00's, then disney probably could've released it as
"UNRATED EXTENDED SPECIAL EDITION" in the same vein as BatB/SW/TLK.

They might as well, the films was intended to reach an older audience after all.

Let's face it. They're NEVER going to release it uncut. T_T

Well, I didn't have high expectations.. I knew it'd never happen. But still, a girl could hope, right? Sigh, well it'll be interesting to see what they do include. I'll still upgrade to this version, if nothing else just to support the film.

For the deleted scene, maybe they went the "Phantom" route and decided to incorporate the scene into a mini-doc about that scene that makes it seem ten times longer than it really is.

In the DVD for Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, the deleted scenes are available in two ways: on their own as the individual scenes (16 minutes), or as part of a documentary (36 minutes) that discusses the why-for of their deletions.

Think of it like the "The (Insert DAC Title) That Never Was" featurettes on a couple of the Platinums, except they actually play the deleted scenes within the featurette instead of having someone explain what the scenes were over the storyboards (and occasional newly-recorded or vintage audio tracks).

Not much speculation here, but......

the preview did say deleted SCENES and not just A deleted scene. So....... you suppose they'd finally have the guts to show some animated PG-13/R-rated material at last?

Not to mention it showed how the scenes were finished in post.

And thanks for not forcing me to go back and explain myself.

And the trailer on youtube is okay.

Any update on this release? I thought we were suppose to get it sometime this month. At this point maybe they are planning it to accompany Snow White in October (although I was hoping for the off chance it would be Hercules or Hunchback)
