You know, something like that might work, too. One thing is missing, though: how do we be reasonable and polite while being convincing and persistent and, dare I say it, forceful? Maybe you could write a sample letter so we know what to do?
MK Sharp wrote:As I've observed previously, I've got all but two of them; but most are on VHS, so they're a bit tatty looking and inconveniently spread over a large number of tapes.
Annoyingly, one of the ones I'm missing is The Litterbug, which I'd love to see as an adult - although I did see it many times at school when I was very small. This is back in the days when we'd assemble in the school hall and be shown films on 16mm by a teacher who barely knew how a 16mm projector worked. I'm starting to feel old now...
I too have almost all of them on VHS, but they are showing their age not just in video but in sound, too, as they were recorded from both official videos and airings on the Disney Channel. And I actually DO have THE LITTERBUG. I still remember that song: "Litterbug, shame on you!"

Hi... Thanks so much for your kind words; they're very much appreciated. I have been told that there will be no more Treasures, and of course I'm disappointed. .
Wow, I am just in a state of shock.
I just read into like the 3rd page of this thread to find out this horrible news. And it being 11:30pm and taking me over a half hour to read through all those posts I don't have time for the other 10 pages right now. I was hoping you guys were just speculating again.... I guess not.
I don't know what to say. this is like being at a funeral for me. This was the beloved series that brought me to UD. I don't even have half of the earlier waves yet.... Someone was saying that maybe the Legacy collection would take over? Why even start a new series to take over an old series though? I hate the packaging on the TLA series. I'll try and catch up with the rest of this thread later. Just wanted to vent.

Which is something they do all the time in America.

And sadly, more and more in the UK these days

yes, in America it either gets cancelled way too early or they let it go on way too long to the point where it resorts to insane plots all just for the sake of ratings.
But I'm still stunned about the WDT... they should do at least do one more wave with the remaining Donald shorts, remaining other shorts and something from a TV show so it sort of completes the whole series.

What I was alluring to was that whenever there is a conflict, normally business beats artistic value/intent. DVD releases are no different.

Writing letters to Disney might help to get the Donald sets released in the Treasures packaging but even if they don't come out in the tins like the others, we're still going to get the rest of the cartoons, they'll prob just be in Legacy series packaging.

To be perfectly honest I could live with the Donald shorts being completed in the Legacy collection, as long as they are completed. It would be nice to have some more definite details released about the Legacy collection, there hasn't even been release dates announced for the next wave yet.

That's a good pic there, only I would've gone with Donald maybe being a little less upset and not be sorta up in the air there.
Meanwhile, on another forum

That's not a bad idea. E-mailing this Dick Cook guy may be more effective than emailing the rather useless BVHE customer service department.

MK Sharp wrote:I still see absolutely nothing wrong with dropping the good folk at Disney a line letting them know that I'm keen to buy a couple more Donald Treasures and would be disappointed if I don't get the chance. In my experience, it's quite amazing what you can get done with a little bit of public groundswell as a driver. I think lobbying can be a very powerful and effective force, and it's flat wrong to say that it rarely works.
Maybe they have just run out of ideas about what could or should go on them? If you are going to write these letters or emails, be sure to add your suggestions for what you were thinking or hoping would be in the upcoming Waves - just look at the first 3 pages of this thread if you need any reminding about all the great stuff... It truly is a shame, but maybe some letters with encouraging ideas might prompt a reversal.

Given that the Treasures are already in trouble, the best-case-scenario we can hope for is just one more wave, to wrap things up. Whether that Wave consists of two tins or three, I don't think we should be asking for any more than that. Basically. Donald Vol 3 & 4 and, if possible, an Educational/More Rarities tin with stuff like "Goofy's Freeway Troubles", "Freewayphobia", "Donald in Mathmagic Land", "Scrooge McDuck and Money", etc... perhaps any other Alice shorts for which prints have survived... etc.

Well, if they are gonna an educational set AND Donalds 3 and 4, then they might as well just release Mathmagicland on the Donald set, since it's right there. As for "Scrooge McDuck and Money", maybe they could release that on the Donald sets as a bonus, since it features members of the Duck clan.

The problem then is that we're slowly eroding things that could go on the Rarities set. Are there any other Alice shorts than the ones that were included on the original Rarities tin? I know the prints have been lost for many of them, but the few we got couldn't have been all there is, could it?

Well, wasn't "Scrooge" released after Walt died?

What does that have to do with it, though?
Mickey's Christmas Carol and
Runaway Brain were post-Walt era, as well... and they missed the mark by a whole lot more than the 1-or-less year "Scrooge McDuck and Money" did.

At least
Mickey's Christmas Carol,
The Prince and the Pauper and
Runaway Brain all featured Mickey Mouse in a series of DVDs about him.

There's tonnes of Alices other than those on Rarities - 33 in fact. Mind you, I doubt there would have ever been a wholly Alice Treasure even if the range was alive and thriving, let alone now.
