1. Toy Story: It will always hold that special place in my heart. I blame it on nostalgia, but everything about that film is so memorable. And looking at it from an older perspective, the references and humor are so clever!

2. A Bug's Life: Again, I find a lot of the jokes in this film clever and Heimlich is just a scene-stealer in every way; I always crack up at his lines. Kevin Spacey just has the right villain's voice too. Being the second Pixar film I ever watched might have something else to do with it.

3. Finding Nemo: It had a lot of heart. And Ellen!

4. Toy Story 2: The complex storyline gave the first film much more meaning.

5. Up: Again, just a lot of heart, emotion, and great storytelling.

6. Monster's Inc.: I like this movie, but for some reason it annoys me a little too. The special effects with the doors were really cool.

7. The Incredibles: Good, but the colors in the real world make me depressed.

8. Cars: I liked it at first, but the cartooniness gets on my nerves a bit. Plus, like someone mentioned earlier; it has a thin plot. However, I really love the message about how society sacrificed beauty for a shorter drive/road trip to their destination. This is actually the only Pixar film I've ever seen in theaters.

9. Wall-E: I really wanted to like this one from the previews, but for the first two-thirds of the film it's actionless. The beginning is just him looking for junk. The second, though visually stunning, is his trip in outer space. And then the end gets all cartoony with the fat people. IDK, just boring and kind of a stupid plot.

10. Ratatouille: I've seen it. It's a film... about... a rat. That cooks. Add a little elaboration and that's the story. I like the Food Network, but that formula just doesn't cut it for me. I just didn't find it appealing, and yet, it takes place in one of my favorite settings, Paris.

Changed my list after seeing Toy Story 3 today. That's the closest I've ever been to bursting into tears after a movie.

1. Toy Story 3- I don't know what to say. This is the perfect example of a perfect movie. It may very well be the best sequel I have ever seen. It's even up there on the best movies of all time period.
2. The Incredibles- Still a favorite with great action and characters.
3. Up- One of the most emotionally packing movies of all time, but still not quite Toy Story 3. Every character is well thought out, and who doesn't like dogs?
4. Toy Story- Still an awesome film, and a worthy achievement for such early years.
5. Finding Nemo- A very moving film, and some of the best characters to come out of Pixar. I know like, every line of this movie.
6. WALL-E- A very nice film with a rather crazy third act, but still heartwarming and epic.
7. Toy Story 2- After watching it again recently, it's not that bad anymore. Jessie no longer annoys me, and everything still plays out amazingly. I don't know why I detested this film so much earlier, it's really a great flick. But NOTHING will change my disgust for Al. Ugh. Worst. Pixar. Villain. Ever.
8. Monsters Inc.- I don't know why this is so low, it's still a great movie, but... Darn you Pixar and your awesome movies!
9. Ratatouille- A very nice film with amazing visuals. It doesn't feel like a Pixar movie, but it sure gives you a great feeling.
10. A Bug's Life I also have no idea why this is penultimate.
11. Cars- Still iffy in my book. It has a 9/10 for me, since the first act makes everyone so unlikable, but it redeems itself in the end.

So I'm also updating my list since I saw Toy Story 3 today (even though I'm two posts above; lol):

2. Toy Story 3: Amazing, just amazing! I thought it was as great as the first Toy Story. I love everything about this film, and the incinerator scene is probably number one on my favorite climaxes in a movie ever.

1. Toy Story - 9.5/10
Pixar's first and still the best. The concept is ripe with possibilities and the best ones were explored in the original's story of toy rivalry and getting lost. The sardonic but good natured sense of humor kind of faded into generic laughs in the second and third, but I still appreciate the strong suits of the sequels.

2. Wall-E - 9/10
You might call it Pixar's Dumbo or Bambi - very character oriented and moving without much dialogue. The take on the future of the human race is somehow hilarious and sobering at the same time.

3. A Bug's Life - 9/10
I think the movie's tagline defines it well: an epic of miniature proportions. Pixar's most underrated. Computer animation has come a long way since this one was produced, but I think its still one of the best examples of how beautifuly the computer can render the natural world.

4. The Incredibles - 8.5/10
This is one I haven't seen in a while, but I remember placing it towards the top of my list. Although I felt it was overly cynical or even mean spirited in places, I think its one of the best superhero movies. The family dynamics make the movie.

5. Monsters, Inc. - 8.5/10
Vies with Toy Story for most interesting concept, and it is explored really well. The humor is a little less sophisticated than some of the other Pixars. The story is really the highlight. Great ending too - I really don't think it calls for a sequel, but I'm sure they can deliver a good movie.

6. Toy Story 2 - 8.5/10
A very good continuation of the first and a further exploration of toy psychology. I think I admire it most for not being repetitive. The wit of the original is mostly replaced with gags and obvious references to Star Wars and Jurassic Park.

7. Toy Story 3 - 8.5/10
Stands alone as delivering a third entry that maintains the quality of its predecessors, if being somewhat repetitive. The climax is rightfully harrowing, but the final scenes are a little on syrupy side. Makes for one of the, if not the most, consistent movie trilogies.

8. Up - 8.5/10
Great adventure, great fun. The opening montage is as great as everyone says.

9. Ratatouille - 8/10
I love food and I love to cook, but I resist the term "foodie" as I think everyone is into food when its good. Anyway, I really like this movie. The concept is ironic, the subplots are interesting, and the critic character is great. Suprisingly good considering its production history.

10. Finding Nemo - 8/10
Episodic and a little too long. The father/son relationship is kind of typical. Dory and several other characters are funny and the animation is breathtaking.

11. Cars - 7.5/10
Hard for me to call it "Pixar's worst", because I like it. But alas, among great company, it falls to the bottom. It's certainly Pixar's most immature movie and the concept is kind of stupid. But it has an American charm.

Monsters, Inc.- 9.5/10
There is something about this movie that I just love so much. The ending is absolutely perfect. I'm not to keen on a sequel, but I will probably still see it.
Ratatouille- 8.5/10
Toy Story- 8/10
The Incredibles- 7/10
Finding Nemo- 7/10
Cars- 5/10

I've only seen about half of the Pixar films, but I intend to watch the rest as soon as possible.

All 8, 9 or 10 out of 10 movies for me except maybe The Incredibles, which didn't really work for me, though it had some great moments.

I always find it difficult to put movies in order of preference as a lot of the time, I like them all for different reasons. For example, with the first 2 Toy Story movies; I prefer the first one for plot and the 2nd one for comedy moments. Here is the list as it currently stands;

To be completely honest, I really like them all which is why this list is probably not very accurate. With the exception of Cars in last place, I think most films change spots often in my top ten.

Resurrecting this thread in anticipation of the release of Cars 2.

I most likely won’t see Cars 2 for a long time (until it’s airing on ABCFamily--unless I have a free Starz weekend or something), but I haven‘t ranked these in forever anyway.

This is a favorites list, not a best list for me. The top 4 feel perfect for me, so I couldn’t say much about them.

1. Toy Story 3 ~ Andy’s probably the reason for the high ranking. He's adorable.
2. The Incredibles ~ I love all the characters here. Edna, Elastigirl, Mr. Incredible, Syndrome…I like them all. Plus, the designs were pretty awesome, imo.

4. Monsters, INC.
5. Toy Story ~ Actually my least favorite of the three, strangely, but still a modern classic.
6. Ratatouille ~ I’ve already talked about how much I love the Anton Ego character before. I also like the atmosphere the movie has--it always inspires me to watch it again. That said, I don’t really like Remy (yet another “fish out of water” storyline, complete with the condemning father) and I thought he was horribly cast. Linguini also gets on my nerves for some strange reason.
7. A Bug's Life ~ This movie’s similar to Cars in that the story is pretty bland, but I like most of the characters better. Hopper, the Queen, and Flik are pretty likable. The princess is annoying though.
8. Finding Nemo ~ I rank this higher than the other two, just because it is funny. That said, I don’t get much out of it when I re-watch. Ellen Degeneres is the only good thing about it for me--and she is really good.
9. UP ~ Like WALL E, I had been excited by the concept of an older protagonist. The movie is still good--initially. But when the dogs come in, the whole thing goes to hell. Still, for the first ten minutes alone, this move deserves a higher rank over the bottom two.
10. Wall-E ~ I thought it was an okay film, but I’m not crazy about it. There’s the preachy message of course, but it's more that I just really don't like it. I’m not sure why they threw in a love story at all--other than the necessity for heterogeneity even among robots--and I don’t really have much enthusiasm for the movie after EVE comes in. Especially when the story moves to the spaceship, I completely lose interest. Plus, the whole thing feels like it’s trying too hard. Like Oscar bait or something. I always hated that I felt that way about it, considering I really liked the concept of WALL E when it was first announced all those years ago.
11. Cars ~ The cast is bland and humorless. The whole “old guy knows better, young guy is arrogant and blind” concept has been done to death. The voice cast is also pretty bad, imo.

I would give all of these movies a 10 or 9 out of 10 except Cars I would probably give it 7.5/10.

Thank God! I was beginning to think I was the only one who felt this way! But, I also like the ending where Carl stands in for the boy scout's parents. All in all, I was very 'underwhelmed' by Up.
