I'm pretty excited about this movie still. I just wish disney would give us something new that's officially from the film to look at for a while! Especially since the film is said to ahve been re-tooled since this clip was released!

Three or four different artists told me that Bolt's story development is in good shape, and that Rapunzel and Princess and the Frog "look like they're going to be big deal, box office pictures." Said one artist:

"Rapunzel has really, really come together. Before it was a series of really nice moments, some really funny sequences. But now it has a real epic sweep to it. To me it has the feel of those early Disney features from the forties..."
Did it say if it'll remain CGI or 2-d?

Hey, and the animation test finally has audio!

"And second... I don't believe in magic."

Her look feels really Giselle-y to me. I hope her personality stands out enough.

this is the most anitcipated movie ever for me! i'm so excited!!! :D :D :D
i really want this movie to be a return to traditional disney animated films. i want this film to put disney back on the animation map, so to speak.
i'd really like it if the villian has a sympathetic side - that way it breaks with tradition but still embodies traditional disney fairytale values.
I have high hopes for Glen Keane and pray that Rapunzel can respectfully sit on my shelf along with Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Cinderella and Snow White!!! :D

p.s. i hope the prince gets some character developement like the Beast and Aladdin! and not like Snow White and Sleeping Beauty!!
FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

oh, by the way, i know some people are sceptical about the CGI aspect of Rapunzel but, from what i've seen it really does look like a moving painting. i just hope they create a decent plot and not rely on the amazing visuals to carry the film through. i don't want Disney to release another Sleeping Beauty!

Why, exactly? You love Sleeping Beauty!

Anyway, I didn't want this to be CGI, but now I definately do, as long as it looks as much like a painting as it already does, if they can't make it more so! It is a lot like Sleeping Beauty in that Disney tried to make it look like a "moving painting" as well, or a "moving medieval tapestry". But I love ALL of Sleeping Beauty (well, except for "Skumps"), and wouldn't mind if this movie's visuals were so good that you forget any weaknesses or flaws.

Sotiris, thank you! Those clips show how the animation moves realistically and looks like a painting. Disney wanted the movie to be able to move and flow as well as if it was drawn, and I think they've come close (the girl and squirrel don't move quite to my liking now). But Rapunzel's hair moves and flows like real hair, which I don't recall ever being done in any CGI film I've seen.

Well, I'd actually love another Sleeping Beauty, but I could do without that whole "flop at the box office that gets appreciated some decades later" aspect!
(Which is what you were referring to, I assume XD)

So... I'm guessing they got rid of the Reverse-Enchanted bit? Is sounds like it. I hope so, because the colors do make me think of Andalasia-type fairy tale world. I wonder how they're doing the plot, since the main character is cooped up in a tower (as the original Beauty and the Beast is two people eating dinner every night). Well, it looks like we have Rapunzel getting out of her tower anyway, to at least wash her hair.

In fact, from that mentioning of the story being about "finding people," I'm wondering if they're actually going to have Rapunzel and her prince wandering in poverty in the wilderness. Just imagine all this painterly CG turning grim and miserable, all that pretty lighting and rendering making the exact opposite of the previews so far, and then turning beautiful again when they reunite.

i love Sleeping Beauty visually. I'm referring to its story. I don't want Disney to concentrate merely on visuals and forget about the story like Sleeping Beauty.
In my opinion the story is just as imperative as the visuals!

I can't believe we have to wait until 2010 for that movie! Wasn't it first announced in like...2003?

A Sleeping Beauty story would be better than the obnoxious modern tone that many disney movies have today. I will be very disappointed if it doesn't have the same feel to it as the old classics. It's a fairy tale, keep it un....modernized.

Do we know who's doing the music for the film?

According to PlayBill, in 2005 Jeanine Tesori said she will be the composer for songs and music for Rapunzel...

Others websites say that Amir Khalifa co-writes songs with Jeanine Tesori...
