I wasn’t referring to Moana’s outfit, I don’t see why that could be a spoiler, but to the ending itself. Moana and Maui are both alive, they are friends in the end and the people of Motunui are navigating again. Of course, that’s how the film was expected to end and in a Disney movie it’s not really a spoiler that the film has a happy ending, but there are people who maybe prefer not knowing yet how the film ends.

Well, to be fair, Maui is a demigod that actually dies in some Polynesian mythologies. Ending speculation:The ending could have been about Maui and Moana having to part ways because of duty reasons. Maui goes back to being a hero, and Moana returns to her family and continues pursuing navigation. Now, though, I'm guessing that Maui sticks with Moana so that they can work together, and Disney will brush off the idea that Maui may eventually die a gruesome death because they're portraying Maui as a Hawaiian god and not Māori.

This being a Disney film I knew Maui wouldn’t die. However, Maui and Moana parting ways at the end could’ve been a possible ending. I don’t know why, but that’s how I had actually imagined the film would end.

I noticed that as well. It’s a bit incoherent that they don’t have a problem showing her topless in the film, but they cover her in the merchandise.

If people will throw a fit over a tattoo costume anything's possible.

Yeah, those crazy people who denounce racist marketing, what's their problem!

The video is funny, but I hoped we would hear some new music. These Moana Mondays are being a bit disappointing.

Well, this is the second one. I really hoped it was new music.

Yeah, those crazy people denouncing pedo enabling topless children in marketing.

See, I can make outlandish claims too.

Uh... Good? Should we encourage child nudity???

Besides, that’s not an outlandish claim any more than Disney’s racist Maui costume is considering it’s what’s actually happening. There is a racist costume and child Moana is being covered up on merchandise.

I just expected something more because of Jared Bush's tweet. But yes, you're right. This is only the second instalment of Moana Mondays and they're probably saving the best for last. Besides, we are getting a lot of stuff lately (international trailers, TV spots, song snippets, etc), so we can't really complain.

Oh, goodness, I was not trying to provoke an argument here I promise... I was mostly commenting on how child Moana wasn't fully matching the merchandise.

Not even in a "topless Moana is offensive!" way, but a "so this is happening" way.

These waters are choppy, I sense. :(

More details about Maui's song:
Songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda (Broadway's Hamilton) studied The Rock's ring performances before composing. The songs helped him create the "Key of DJ," as Johnson called it on Twitter.

Miranda wrote You're Welcome featuring Maui and his magical fish hook's impact on the South Pacific culture. As legend has it, Maui slowed down the sun, pulled up whole islands from the sea and battled monsters. So he is due for some thanks.

The song's patter rap is similar to the style Miranda invoked for Hamilton.

Yes, moana is being covered up, and yes the custume has been removed, those are facts. But whether or not its racist is completely up for debate. You can't prove it's even a little bit racist.

And the end credits song is....Make It Move from Sean Evans??? How freaking random and unfitting! This can't be it.

If that song were official, I don't think he'd use the wrong font for the title + the basic concept art as the background.

Also, it's a love song, and that would be incredibly awkward to fit into this movie's plotline. Considering that this is by far his most viewed video at just over a mere 1450 views, I'm guessing the use of Moana is clickbait to promote his album.

I think it's definitely fake too, starting with the horrendous, sloppy picture and the fact that it was released on September 3rd. Disney would release this or have a press release over it. Additionally, this can not be professionally done because the microphone echo is terrible and unedited. Plus, the singer isn't even famous and above all, Polynesian.

Thank goodness that song seems to be fake.

It would be nice if they had given the honor of compossing the end credits song to Te Vaka given that Lin-Manuel Miranda seems to have written the majority of the film's other songs.

The Funko Pop set was revealed this morning. 7 pops and the only characters featured were Moana, Maui, and Pua, which makes me wonder if disneyprincess11 (I think that's the person who guessed this) might be right that Hei Hei is a villain. I think they would make merchandise of him if he was one of the side-kicks... Please God don't be true.
