I'm almost done with Simpsons Season 7 which I finally got a chance to purchase. At least Season 8 is almost out already, no big wait for me.

Friends season 10, finally completed the series. The series finale still makes me cry when I watch it, it's just so happy and sweet. Now on to Sex and the City.

In the past couple of days I finished up Season Four of Remington Steele and Season Four of Silk Stalkings. Just about done with Season One of Cheyenne, which has been a real treat for me, because Clint Walker was one of the better western actors from the 60's television shows.

Justice League S2

One again I'm simply amazed at how adult, epic and even emotional these "children's stories" are. They go way beyond their animated remit, actually telling stories to make the viewer think about the issues raised (and some are surprisingly political too).

Even working to the self-imposed limits of children's TV censorship - no body can die, the heroes always have to win, the villains can't be too evil, nothing can be shown that children can copy, etc - they still have, in my mind - told stories that surpass any of the live-action Superman* or Batman films. Star Crossed, the three part finale has everything anybody could want in a superhero movie, ever.

Dini and Timm are the best thing that ever happened to Warner Bros since the old Looney Tunes days. They have shaped and guided a wonderfully rich, deep and consistant DC animated universe, taking the comics as the starting point, but not being afraid to change stuff if it makes it better. They have breathed fresh new life into DC iconic and not-so-iconic characters.

So what do Warners do? Refuse to let either of them have anything to do with their DC live action movies (because they make "children's TV"), create rubbish like "The Batman" (presumably because they thought the Timm/Dini style was too taxing for children) and even destroy the Timm/Dini animated universe by making and releasing crap like the all-new "Superman: Brainiac Attacks" movie, blatently done with the same model sheets.

Well done Warner Bros. Once again you fail to recognise talent, and failed to recognise the importance of your intellectual properties.

* I have not seen Superman Returns.

I watched Disc 1 of Jetsons Season 1 last night and today. I had forgotten how much I've loved that show. Though it is disturbing that 6 year old Elroy is doing science type stuff that I'd never understand. Also, that both Jane and Judy complain about housework when all they have to do is push buttons and thats it. Oh and George's nice 3 day work week.

I finished watching Sex and the City season 1. It's my favorite show, I can watch it over and over. Watching it makes me wonder how much they can show on TBS and how much gets cut out because alot of it seems to much for some people to watch on cable.

Just recently got around to Walt Disney Treasures - Spin & Marty. I guess that sort of thing couldn't really be made today, but I find it quite enjoyable and can easily understand why it was popular.

I finished my Smallville marathon this week. I watched seasons 1-4 back to back.

Today I finished The Ellen Show: The Complete Series. It was an excellent show. It also had some great guest stars like Betty White, Mary Tyler Moore, Maureen McCormick, John Ritter, etc.

I just got done watching Lost season 1. I love it and am so addicted to it now. I can't wait until I get to watch season 2, but I'll have to wait until September when it comes to DVD.
