I watched last week's episode of The Closer. Not a show I suggest picking up if you haven't started it from the beginning. It's okay, but if you've already started watching Crossing Jordan, believe me you're not missing much.

I just finished watching an episode of Mama's Family.

I LOVE Mama's Family! I really wish that would come to DVD too. But of course I'd only want to start from the season that Bubba (I think the actor's name was Allan Kayser, HUBBA HUBBA!!) joined the cast.

I know that's why I'm not watching it. But keeping the TV on gives me company. I know that sounds odd but it does. Besides what else is going to be on @ 11 p.m.?

Oh, I saw an old episode of Dukes of Hazard on Thursday, I beleive it was. But I laughed when they're driving in the car and you can tell it's playing in the background. I was like "haha that's awesome!!!"

What's playing in the background?

You know! When they're driving and the road behind them is being played by a projector or something. They did it in a lot of old movies and TV shows. They also continuously play it over and over again.

I don't understand, how can a road be played?

OK!!! There is a camera infront of the car but the car isn't moving. It only appears to be moving because there is a screen in the background and they have some kind of projector "projecting" the road so it seems like the car is moving.

Okay, that makes more sense. I guess I haven't watched much of the show to know. Does this happen during the beginning, like a credits sequence? Or is this from a specific episode? I don't know why I don't watch more of this show... Maybe it's because I like smarter, quality entertainment.

No! No! They run it every time there is a sceen when the actors appear to be driving the car. It's a very old trick and of corse they don't do it anymore. Actually, it's done with computers now.
*I'm sorry I should of explained it more clearly on the first post.

Well, it's a pretty curious trick. I can't imagine this happens as much as I'd notice when watching TV, I see a lot of car chases and I never notice a scene where the background looks altered or same. The only thing I notice being suspiciously same are cartoons, especially Garfield, where characters walk down quasi-long corridors.
