One thing I've noticed for the Dubbed version is that every 10th episode is either really sad, moves the plot along in a big way or both. Three episodes that are a must watch, for the North American version are:
Episode 20 (you might have to watch the 9 before it to understand why it's so sad)
Episodes 29-31 these three take place pretty much moments after the each other, episode 30 being really sad.
Episode 39 and 40 - Episode 40 being the final episode is of course going to move the plot along majorly

But episode 39 I found sad for reasons made clear during it. Again episode 40 takes place moments after eps. 39
I won't spoil anything, but there's a link on the first page of this site where you can download the episodes I think.

I currently own the last three seasons. Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon Super S and Salior Stars ( snot sure if that is the title). As a whole I think anime is simply amazing. I don't love it as much as I ised to, but it's still a huge part of my life. I've been meaning to watch Millenium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers. Have you seen some of the more bloody anime?
You know what I noticed in the episode I posted? That Tuxedo Masks kicks Sailor moon's ass good. They totally censored that episode. Do you think they should have ended the series there? Or do you think more seasons were necessary?

I've seen Yu Yu Hakusho which is pretty bloody and violent. I've also seen that one show......ummmm Hellsing? I think that's what it is called, the main character is a vampire named Alucard. That's it about I think, I would love to see Resident Evil turned into an anime show, just to see how it would look and play out as a t.v series.
Can anyone recommend some good Anime DVDs?

Grave of the Fireflies.
If you have the cash to spend, I'd seriously recommend Le Chevalier D'Eon. ADV's already released three volumes and the fourth one's coming out in August.

You should watch Metropolis, Ninja Scroll ( for mature audiences only), X, Vampire Hunter D ( also for mature audiences), and Utena The Movie.
BTW, Blood The Last Vampire is hitting blu-ray in November. I have yet to see it, but I have heared and read that Steamboy is fantastic ( also coming out in Blu-ray).

Steamboy was decent, but not much more than that (in my opinion, of course).

Studio Ghibli films are always a must. But I do have recommendations for anime series if you really have the time to watch.
Pretear - It's only 13 episodes long so it's easy to get through. Lots of twists and turns. Romance fantasy adventure. The characters have complexities and the turning points in the series are really moving.
Fushigi Yuugi - Same as above except the characters are a bit more stereotypical and annoying. This is also a 52 episode series so it might take you a while.
Escaflowne - 26 episodes. Really neat as it combines the "girl in magical world" concept with "fighting robots"
Tokyo Pig - a kids show that you might find american dubbed dvd versions of easily. Very weird but very funny
Hamtaro - same as Tokyo Pig. Maybe too cute but interesting characters. I think the American dub is actually more interesting than the original Japanese dub
There's also a series called Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. The unique thing about this series is that it's a VERY dark talking dog series. Because of the blood and gore involved with these dogs (and yes there is plenty) they havent released the series on DVD. You can find episodes on Youtube. After you watch those 21 episodes, look for its sequel series Ginga Densetsu Weed (a 26 episode series) which is also awesome.
Jubei-Chan the Ninja Girl - 13 episode wacky magical girl combined with ninja/samurai series. I have yet to watch its sequel series.

Yu Yu Hakusho isn't really that bloody. If you really want tiles with gore and bloodfest then watch Gantz, Elfin lied, Black Lagoon, Ichi the Killer(the prequel OVA), Fist of North Star, Berserk etc.

I can't stop watching the episode you posted Chernabog_Rocks. I love that episode. Out all the soldiers Sailor Mercury touches me the most. To me she is the bravest one of all. The part that gets me the most is when she sends them off, telling them to leave her behind. I know I am going a little deep here, but her actions of bravery still occur today. This got me thinking about our American soldiers in Irag. I know that out there many smart brave soldiers have asked their comrades to leave then behind when situations get dangerous and lethal. They are willing to sacrafice their life for the rest.
Ami used her brains, she knew she was the weakest, but to me she was the strongest. Thanks to her stradegy the DD Girls were not going to fool Sailor Moon anymore. What hits me is when Sailor Moon keeps looking back. I know what that feels like, looking back, the feeling is awful. Specially, when you know you might never see that certain person again, it's a horrible feeling.
Well I am going to stop now, I probably analyzed the episode too much. I feel the show would have been better if it ended there and all the soldiers didn't come back to life. I just noticed that throughout the whole series Sailor Moon and the others are always fighting to protect the planet. I guess one can say they are all Environmentalists.

*I searched anime in Off Topic but couldn't find a specific thread to discuss all anime*
Does anyone here watch anime? What series are you watching/have watched?
I'm currently watching Naruto Shippuden and Fullmetal Alchemist, there isn't too many good anime just released so I figured I'd catch up. I finished watching Romeo X Juliet and Death Note. And we've all seen Dragonball/Z/GT haven't we
Currently waiting for the Tales from Earthsea DVD out next month, and Naruto Unleashed 3:1. I'm also hoping that a Death Note boxset is on it's way because I grudge paying £10 for 4 episodes.

I don't watch anime. The only ones that I've even heard of are Pokemon and Kimba, and those still don't look as good as the cartoons I'm used to, IMO.
