After searching for threads I came across some old threads with users who don't post anymore. I noticed that one of these users, 'Tangela' had a unique U.D Ranking I'd never seen before, their ranking was 'In The Vaults'. I was wondering what this meant?
Is this the ranking missing members get, if so, how long were they gone to get this ranking?
I was just curious

"In the Vaults" means the member is banned, not missing. The only other ranking for banned members is "Banned Deadbeat" for Secret Santa deadbeats.
Tangela is a whole chapter in the UD history. Unfortunately, I came a couple months after he was banned so I don't know the full story, but to sum it up, there were different internet aliases, lying about his age, sex, and orientation, verbal abuse in the chat room, and a rabid love for The Rescuers.

And we should let that whole chapter stay permanently closed.

Umm... to continue on what Josh has said...I also sometimes browse through old threads. It's not the first time that I've across
deathie mouse. The ranking beneath his name says "Ultraviolet Edition".
What does it mean?

I think that's a customised ranking. Deathie either loved Ultra Violet (which I think he did, I should research) or it's related to Blu-ray as in Violet blue laser. An Ultra Violet blue laser would probably enable about 1 terabyte if used as an optical disc storage system, not that that is related to anything.
He was very technical in the cinematic world and 5.01 surround sound frequency, which I still reckon is a non technical world (5.1 that is (6 Channels)) 5 main speakers 1 sub-woofer and so that the average person can tell at a glance they just define it as .1 (Sub-woofer).
Anyway, it'd be good to see Deathie back.

I was just about to ask about deathie mouse's UltraViolet Edition, but Juilan beat me to it
I've browsed through old conversations again and came across more frequent posters who I don't see anymore, like
Jack and
Prince Phillip...does anyone know what happened to them? Or thinks they know what happened to them?
If they posted daily and then one day they just stopped...I mean, I hope they didn't pass away or anything.

I was missing for about a month and a half, I kinda left because a certain member was starting to get on my nerves, I think he's a 10 year old who lied to come onto UD, in the end I just gave up and stopped coming here...it's funny, UltimateDisney use to be what I would race home for, because I loved reading responses, reviews, new topics, arguments, conversations, I loved this website more than youtube and myspace combined, but the annoyance of Newbies got to me
It really sucks, since I haven't been visiting UD my passion for Disney has died down and it's almost dead, I didn't want any Disney DVD's for christmas, I went to America and didn't buy ANY Disney DVD's, I was planning on buying all 45, even if they were discontinued, I'd find a way to buy them. I was anticipating buying Disney DVD's on that trip for 1 year and a half and then I didn't even come home with 1. Also, when I went to America this past December/January, I went to Disneyland for the first time in my life, that was the only thing other than have a wife and children that I wanted to do before I died...go to Disneyland, and I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I wanted to (we didn't go to California Adventure Park though) but seeing Fantasmic sparked my love for Disney again and I thought I'd come back here. It's just strange how obsessed I was with this website and then I just stopped caring...
I doubt you guys noticed I was gone though

Don't let it get to you, Maverick. I've had my fair share of annoyances at newbies too, but then I remember this place would go to hell if people left every week because of a few inquisitive newbies. Besides, remember that every poster starts out as an inquisitive newbie. Heck, I joined three years ago (and 2 days) and some of my early posts were truly bandwidth wasting. If anyone remembers my "ignore this..." thread, they'll know just how big I was on being a bandwidth waster. So SillyMcCool8349 may not be your favorite poster today, but a week/month/year from now you'll probably find you can't pass the day without reading their posts.

Nice to hear you went from a "Yay, Disney!" to "Eh, Disney..." to "Yay, Disney!"!!! And remember, we're an odd bunch who talk about more than Disney (more than Disney? Inconceivable!). Of course, somehow everything seems to relate back to Disney, but that's the way it is. We'll find the strangest ways to connect something as odd as...belly button lint...to Disney. For example, belly button lint is mentioned in
The <strike>Worst</strike> Best School Year Ever, which itself also mentions how one kid can't go to Disneyland because he's got to go to fat camp.
Odd that I was able to remember and come up with that in the span of 30 seconds...moving on...
How was Disneyland? I haven't been since...2006, and even then it was just to Downtown Disney, so technically the last time I was at Disneyland was 1998, as our 2001 visit was just California Adventure for only half-a-day (which was more than enough time back then to do all that was necessary).
Josh the Maverick wrote:I doubt you guys noticed I was gone though

We noticed! Well, at least I did. Who else can I call Maverick on UD and mean it without the
Top Gun homoerotic undertones? Post more often! The Custom DVD cover thread has died, and I think BDF is tired of picking up your slack and making the list of what members contributed to the post...

You know, one thing thats always troubled me is that if I were to die, how would the people in my online life ever find out??
What if that might have happened to some of the people that have been missing for a really long time?
Sorry for the morbid thought.

I would LOVE to hear that story!
Someone should make like a "History of the UD Forums" thread and post about the most memorable and infamous moments on this board!

I'm back, but I'm trying to only post in General Discussion and Off-Topic to say important things and not waste bandwidth. I've been hanging around Polls and Games a lot, though, and plan on staying...
T/P, you're so vigilant (did I spell that right?) on who posts when! Such Big Brother-esque abilities...ha, only teasing.

I don't post AS MUCH these days, and when I do, it tends to be over International and Theme Park way, but after being declared semi-missing yesterday, rest assured I am still open...err...alive.

I'm here very rarely now because of school. I guess I'm a lurker more often than a poster. There might be a day when I post a lot and then I'll disappear, but do not be alarmed; I'm still here reading occasionaly, not posting.

That's exactly what I've been thinking for a really long time. It scares me.
What if I die!?
How will all my UD fans get to know!?
OK, I didn't mean to joke on such a serious subject... but really - I think I will give my username and password to my eldest brother, and tell him to inform all of you if I die.
Wait a sec ... how will you all believe that, if you see it beside my name? I think it would be better to get someone I know to create a UD account of his own. Then, if I die, he/she can use that.

Kram's got a message:
Hi guys! It's Kram, do you remember me? I was actually so busy at school (seven clubs and joining an academic honors/community service fraternity) that I haven't had time to come to the site and post much. I lurk, though, and read the front page every two days.
Organic Chemistry sucks, avoid it at all costs if you can. Otherwise, I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry.
Well, even though school's over for now, I have summer classes in June/July. Maybe I'll finally be able to post again once those are over!
Kram will return one day. Besides, someone's got to keep the NJ Trilogy alive over the summer!
