So glad the firefighters are finally getting the support they deserve and that the Fire Union finally feels listened to.

The Chairman of Parks talking about how they "hope" the board will "share [their] commitment to helping the local economy" made me snort giggle. Economic success is a low priority for people like DeSantis, far below their hatred for things like science or fact, gay people, women, etc.
From what I read of the article, the Fire Union said nothing about "finally" being listened to? They showed up because it's a new board the same way they probably showed up for all prior events of this nature, I imagine.

The humor escapes me. One need only to read the article on this same site “Original Fairytales To Get Rewritten” to realize the woke leftist mob with their anti-1st amendment “sensitivity committees” is deadly serious in their intent.

I could laugh hysterically if it weren’t true. Parents can’t even read aloud at board meetings the pornographic words found in some grade school libraries.

I have moved some off-topic posts to
this thread. If you wish to talk about Florida and its politics unrelated to Disney, please use that one.

I also found the bits about Belle reading making her "dangerous" pretty funny,
blackcauldron85.
In
farerb's defense, I don't think the article about bloggers was off-topic since I believe they were referencing Disney bloggers who discuss DeSantis.

This only proves the whole doom and gloom about the Reedy Creek district is just that. It won't have any real effect on Disney's policies or politics.

Well, no Reedy Creek Development District has never decided who can book Disney’s convention spaces. DeSantis still politically targeted Disney after the company voiced its support of the LGBT community by dissolving Disney’s control of the Reedy Creek Development District— that’s scary enough.

That's what I said when trying to calm down some reactions a couple of weeks ago when this happened. At most, politicians in Florida can threaten Disney to do XYZ or else they'll do something to make their life more difficult. But that would still require Disney to capitulate to the blackmail attempts, and it doesn't look like they will.
Which I consider a good thing. So, like I told D23ExpoVisitor25, they can't do anything to stop Tiana's Bayou Adventure from being made or Asha (whether she turns out to be a LGBT character or not) from being featured in the parks come November.

It’s not really newsworthy, imo. People are acting like it’s a statement, but Disney hosts conventions all the time, including gatherings of Evangelicals, Catholics, GOP, etc.
I was in Disneyland in 2007, where they were hosting an LGBT convention at the Grand Californian Resort where my boyfriend and I were staying.
I’m absolutely not dismissing your post, Farerb. I just think all the news stories are a bit much.
