Lnds500, may I use your image as I take my comparison images around to other forums to show people the bad transfer is on Blu-ray too, in my quest to get people's attention and someday get the film fixed?

The screenshots are seen as misleading and inaccurate and proven as incorrect and not how the actual DVD/Blu-ray looks. This is an audiophile site, BTW.

Your denial is getting on my nerves and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
The restoration is flawed, accept it! People saying "people altered the pictures to cause an unrest" are just plain stupid or in denial as well. And because you are so convinced that you got an amazing Blu-ray of Cinderella, please explain to us "fakers", how exactly were the screenshots proven as incorrect?

According to the thread that is. Prove them wrong. The overwhelming pessimism in all the new release threads are getting on my nerves but that's not the point of my post. I was sharing a thread that
I made
for the cause this thread is hoping to spread the word with. In fact, they are way more qualified to make this assessment than we are. One of whom actually worked for Lowry Digital. I just want the truth and the facts.

Oh, you created it to spread the word.. How thoughtful!

and how unlike the thread-crapping attitude you have in here.
But you failed to a answer my question. How exactly did they prove the screenshots are fake?
I have nothing to prove pal. I KNOW the restoration is flawed, you are in the minority. Your facts: I have personally checked the US, UK and Greek releases and I have provided valid, uncompressed, full res pictures of the restoration's flaws.
So here's your homework (and go tell the same thing to the people who think we created a fake comparison): go get the BD if you haven't already and shoot some pictures or take screenshots, whatever it takes to prove US wrong. That is, if you don't trust me or Disney Duster or the rest of the people who have bothered to make a comparison to educate and inform others. If you truly believe that Disney nerds WANT this restoration to be bad and are doing all this on purpose then ok, I rest my case.
Btw, who says they are more qualified? I've only seen one man who seems pretty knowledgable on these things and he did not dismiss the comparison, he just said that people could have faked it.

Well, that's something I've said for years, but the actual inaccuracies are still there.
Screencaps on computers have a much more "digital" look than what ends up on your tv. Not to mention the colors arent as rich on my PC as on TV.
Edit: so are you saying the Screens are FAKE!? Yeah, go look at the scenes on the disc on a properly calibrated(aka accurately adjusted picture so the image can match the source)tv set.

The_Iceflash, could you please say this in your thread you created to help me:
To all the people who don't believe the screencaps the poster posted are actually how the restoration looks, could you please yourselves post screencaps from the Blu-ray of the very same frames used of Cinderella running down the steps?"
Then they should realize the truth.

I just don't have the time to read through the thread Iceflash posted, but forum member Vidiot wrote something that intrigued me.
Vidiot wrote:Small sidenote: I have done work for Lowry in the past, but not on this specific title. Lowry only did scanning, dirt removal, grain management, and enhancement; Technicolor did all the final color correction.
I find it very interesting that Lowry was not the only restoration house to work on Disney's big-budget film restorations. I am extremely pleased with the rest of Lowry's work, and have always felt disappointed that they faltered so much with Cinderella. This comment, however, suggests Technicolor may be to blame. I suppose we'll never know.

Thank you The_Iceflash! I wonder if anyone will actually do it now, a lot of them are saying they don't know how.
Lnds500, could you get me Blu-ray screenshots of all the frames I talked about in the first post of this thread? And actually, could you do it for both the before and after shots since maybe "From Rags to Riches: The Making of Cinderella" is in HD? So the before shots are should be from that making of.

I didn't buy the Blu-ray yet, but I plan to, on Christmas.

Now, I have a question for those of you who did buy it: it's obvious the film didn't get a new restoration, so there's no point in being excited about that, but how are the bonus features? Is this Diamond Edition as bad as the Platinum Edition? I thought Cinderella's DVD debut was the weakest Platinum DVD ever released, which is quite a shame, since it's one of my favorite DACs.
In all the reviews I read, including the one on this site, the reviewer commends the image quality, but now that I saw these comparisons you guys made, I'm quite disapointed.
Take this one, for example. It's inexcusable. Why couldn't they make a restoration similar to this one?
I read somewhere, that when the Sleeping Beauty Blu-ray came out, one of the men who worked on the film said the restoration is almost exactly like the original presentation of the film. What has happened to Disney? First, they don't give to DVDs the same attention they give to Blu-rays, then they make "artwork-less" discs, then they don't make new bonus features and now this?

Yeah, complaints about special features etc. may be trivial, but this is something that should border on criminal tampering with classic art.
It reminds me of the Jesus painting "restoration" incident.

If anything, the features are certainly as random, though Princess house and party and ESPN features are dropped. tangled Ever After could've gone on almost any DVD and Blu-ray, and the Fantasyland expansion has only the one thread of Princesses to tie into Cinderella.
The Shoe Designer's short is actually quite nice, and uses the Cinderella motif rather well, but tonally doesnt fit with the film. It's too arthouse to be accompanied with a Disney film.

I didn't see anything wrong with the Blu-Ray release. Why don't you restore the movie if you so worried about it being done to your excessive standards.

Much can be said about colors changing to a slightly different hue - it's a whole other thing that the the prince's pants has gone from red to blue!!
