I'm extremely excited that Aladdin is back in the line! :D :D And I'm betting that The Little Mermaid will be the Diamond after it. I'm also ready for the Rescuers / Rescuers Down Under set simply because I don't own either of them. I would have preferred them separately, but at least we're getting them. And I don't like the fact that Pocahontas' sequel has the same billing as the original film, but we'll just have to go with it. Still, there are tons of things coming up that I just need to buy, haha.

I just got my copy today ... I didnt even realise it wasnt a Bluray and DVD pack !! Only just noticed when I got it home; it's a blueray only version.

Am I being silly and missed the memo here ? Have Disney stopped combo packs now ? Really dissapointed, especially as it was still £20.

In the US and Australia it definitely looks like it'll be a combo pack (all the ads in Aus are calling it a combo, and the one I've pre-ordered on Amazon.com is a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo). I did a search and it looks like, for some reason, the UK Blu-ray release does indeed have only one disc. Seems kind of odd.

yeah, It's been confirmed from Disney UK that the DVD has been dropped from this release. Disney has started phasing out the DVD apparently.

*Cue DVD vs. Blu-ray rant.

I wouldn't mind a blu-ray only edition in the US. I have no need for a DVD copy.

Not going to rant, but I'll be disappointed when the combo packs cease. I love having the DVD's to take over to the in-laws to share for the holidays.

Guess we'll need to buy them a Blu-ray player for Christmas next year. :p

you must have the best versions available. horizontal titles, numbered, dvd, Walt Disney logo. if they have the inside artwork, it's the perfect edition

which numbering system do you follow??

UPDATE

Tangled is #52. I guess you have your own numbering system then

Not entirely true...

When the Platinum line was running they only sold the movies with one disc. Excluding most extras.

And in the case of the titles we have in Spain Piglet´s Big Movie and The Wild are included.. However, Winnie the Pooh is not included.

PS

Regarding the numbers in the spine... The Princess and the Frog doesn´t have it. :?

$8 Coupon. Not entirely clear on how it works though. Can someone explain? I already own BatB 3D and entered my code. Shouldn't it be in my unlocked offers?

Watching my copy now. Of course the imagery and audio surpass expectations but it would appear the Australian copy is lacking Inside Walt's Story Meetings and instead only features its audio as an audio commentary.

Is Walt's story meeting still being included or have they omitted it everywhere? I will be quite upset if this feature is missing only from the Aussie release as I loved it Bambi's Blu ray AND the Australian Platinum release for LatT was similarly edited back in 05 to omit everything from the US release bar the main making of (which was cut down considerably in content to fit on one disc with the movie) and a couple of music segments.

:? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

^I think (not sure) it's because the feature (Inside Walt's Meetings) is for "second screen," thus the feature is not on the disc itself (even in the US).

Just like why galleries are missing - all on second screen.

Is there an official Disney video for Bella Notte from LATTP 2? The song sung by Carlos Ponce and Joy Enriquez.

Really sucks if Disney are now fazing out the combo packs. I enjoy having to DVD as well; most of my friends don't yet own a Blu player, so its nice to share.

Plus the blinking price is still the same too .... that sucks.

The price for the 3-disc Blu-ray/DVD/Digital copy combo has dropped to $27.99 on Amazon. So, if you were able to pre-order with the $10 Amazon coupon your total is now $17.99.

In-store prices will probably start being posted online on the Blu-ray.com forum either today or tomorrow.
