Well, since I did the girl one first, I tried the guy one too.
I got Flounder . . . what the heck.
Yeah, these quizzes suck, but meh, I was fun while it lasted, yes? (a great way to burn some time while I count down the hours until I snag my copy of TLM:AB!) Bu tI liked the way that it had clips afterwards from the movie featuring whatever character you got. (No offense, but I still don't like this new Flounder. TLM-Flounder or TLM2-Flounder would be so much better than this rather off-character version of him . . . GAH.)
Too cool. (
jeremy88: At least we can be dodos together, eh? *hugs*)

Disney Duster wrote:Really Siren, the makers of this prequel said it ends right before the big concert? So...when...the heck...did Ariel start knowing about humans, or start loving humans, a love that went far beyond her love of music? When did Sebastian and Flounder stop doing things that would get them in trouble?
The makers didn't say that, Jodi Benson did, in the featurette. However, I believe she was referring to the term "prequel", not that it literally takes place right before the original film.
Disney Duster wrote:Vermin Friends wrote:Like I said in the 2nd thread, I think Ursula was banished long before Ariel's time. If you really think chronologically and listen to her dialog, she talks about life in the palace before Ariel (possibly even Triton). With that said, I'm a little happy she wasn't in TLM3, since it would be canonically incorrect... though I am really disappointed that she wasn't even mentioned.
How do you know it is canonically incorrect? Nothing proves Ursula was banished before Ariel was 15 or whatever age this prequel makes her in the original, truly canonical movie. In fact, even the series says otherwsie, but we should only use what the movie says.
The series contradicts what's been laid out in TLM3.
Like I said- I've already stated some reasons in the second thread... hold on. I've been searching for the past two hours and can't find it... I'll be back.
edit: Okay, I just went through all 56 of the second TLM3 thread, as well as the posts that go back to my join date in the original TLM3 thread, and couldn't find it.

I guess I'll just have to try to remember...
FOUND IT!
About Marina being Ursula: In the original film, Ursula says "in my day, we had fantastical feasts- back when I lived in the palace" implying that Ursula was living in the palace before Ariel's "day" or time. However, Marina would not have been living in the palace if the only reason why she was there was to watch over the girls (presumably after Athena died). Therefore, Ursula must've been around much earlier.

Sorry Disney Duster, didn't notice that post of your's. And yes, I just learned the time line of the movie from Jodi Benson in that featurette posted earlier.
And it doesn't sound like this movie answers ANY of those questions. Especially her love of human things. Which means it just suddenly appears in the original movie. Where as in the original movie, its obvious she's been collecting human stuff for YEARS. That grotto is overflowing with human things. And from the sounds of it, this prequel doesn't go into her love of human things at all, which is not only unfortunate, but really stupid. If Triton caught Ariel with some human things in her bedroom, he could get upset. After all, humans killed Athena and cause her to then have to find a place to hide her human things and find the grotto and bring her collection there. Just adding this one element would have been enough.

Actually, Siren, you'd be surprised how quickly a collection can get started once you start. For instance, I've been playing Magic: the Gathering for about 2 months now and I have over 2000 cards.

Collecting cards isn't the same as collecting paintings, books, sculptures, jewelry, tools, etc, and doing so covertly. 2000 cards are lightweight compared to the stuff Ariel sometimes had to carry back there.
Always wondered how the hell Flounder got that statue there. He had to get help which means some other animal in the sea knows about the grotto.

When TLM was released as PE, Disney Adventures had a small comic covering that topic. According to them, Flounder got help from a huge whale. Of course, it's hardly reliable but it is an explanation.

I read the UD review.
I agree 100% with it. Its a solid production with great visuals, solid music and some great new characters, but for a movie called "Ariel's beginning" we barely see any development that would make the first movie even more significant.
As for the Eric statue, I always thought that when the boat was destroyed the statue sank and landed on Ariel's grotto. After all, when Ariel was singing "Part of your world" the ship passed by.
So if you do some calculating the chances of the statue falling through the hole and into the grotto are high.

Same here.

lol, I wouldnt think the chances are
that high. The Ocean is pretty huge and the ship is already far passed Ariel's grotto when the statue falls off the boat. Plus the hole seems pretty small for the statue to so conveniently fall through it.
It's a good theory though
oh going back to this plot connecting to the original film and the series...B
You could look at is as, Ursula being bannished long before Ariel's begining. And then the series takes place right after Ariels Begining. And then after the series the original films starts...I think that order would make the most logical sense. So I guess if you watch it and the order it makes sense...it still doesn't answer as to why Ursula was banned from Atlantica.
