Did you see it in 3D? It seems its only the 3D showings that aren't playing the short.

Okay I think I know why Up felt a little weird for me: After seeing the G-Force trailer played THREE times before the movie in the theater, I had the same queasy feeling where there many talking dogs and when they started to drive the airplanes. And the main dog's squeaky voice brought out my memory of the chipmunks... =/ I think that's why Up felt off for me.

I agree, Kevin was pretty awesome. I'm going to have to say that Dug is my favorite though. I abosolutely adore him, especially his little line "I hid under the porch because I love you."

I LOVE Dug!!! I love dogs anyway, and he was very much a "stereotypical" dog, in terms of what he thinks. A very fun, and very funny, character. He has so many great, quotable lines!

I agree 100%. That last part is especially true - my friend who went with me to the midnight showing and I were quoting Dug all day at school today. I'm sure a lot of people thought us to be a bit crazy.

Ok maybe I'm too emotional but I shed a tear during a certain scene in the movie when he looks thorugh the book again...I'm sorry but

The movie was SO SO SO freaking awesome I loved it all around

Hmm, does this mean I'm EXTREMELY emotional? I full-on cried about 3 times during the movie (all of which I had to restrain from sobbing) and another 3 or 4 times I teared up.

Actually, now that I think about it, I just about teared up every time Carl mentioned Ellie.

But I agree, this movie is so amazing. I would recommend it to anyone. It has officially become my number one Pixar movie.

Actually, the 3-day expiration applies to how long you'll be able to access your ticket online in case you lose the hard copy. The admission itself doesn't expire until July 31st.

I think the child pass notation for Up is a typo. If you read the instructions for use, it says it's valid for $8.50 off one admission at any showing. It makes no mention of child admission. Unfortunately, I left my ticket at home when going to see Up, so I can't verify if the theater will somehow think/know if it's for a child's ticket. I plan on seeing the film again either tomorrow or Sunday, and I'll find out then.

Anyway, as to my thoughts on Up...

...I think it may just be my favorite Pixar film. Period.

Now, I'm not one of those people who immediately calls the latest thing they've seen their favorite. There've been four films in between my last favorite (Finding Nemo) and my new favorite (Up). I just think Up was tailor made for my sensiblities. It's a very whimsical picture, moreso than any previous one. It takes on a very optimistic, almost child-like view of life while not being afraid to touch upon more serious subject matter. Add to that quirky characters (but not excessively so ala A Bug's Life), an adventurous spirit, the theme of flight, and some of the most gorgeous animation ever, and you've got the ingredients for something I can't help but embrace.

Dug was hands down my favorite character. Like Dory, virtually everything that comes out of his mouth (or collar, at least) is a quotable one-liner.

The dialogue-less montage that showed Carl and Ellie's life together was my favorite portion. It's amazing how much you can convey with visuals and music. The whole sequence was potent without feeling gimmicky or saccharine.

The story itself was just right. It wasn't so plotty that it felt like the characters were being steered by the script, but it wasn't so light that the film felt like it was padded and dawdling. Somehow, it managed to be both episodic and linear in story structure, a balance not often seen.

The biggest laughs for me were: 1) Beta's busted collar. It completely came out of nowhere and reminded me a lot of cat Yzma from Emperor's New Groove, which is certainly not a bad thing. 2) The fake-out with Russell's "death" on Carl's imagination. Talk about a gusty gag, but that just made it all the more hilarious.

The Princess and the Frog has a very tough act to follow. It may the one that sells more merchandise, but something tells me Up will be more highly regarded both now and in the long run. The Blu-ray of this should be absolutely stunning.

I took my brother and mother to see it I used the ticket with no problems what so ever, omg I wanted to hit the guy though he honestly asked me what movie is this for...I was like with the big huge logo on it with the characters too. Tickets were 10 bucks but he let me slide since I don't carry cash / debit card only.

I absoluetly LOVED Up, exceeded my expectations times 100! So exhilarating and funny. I loved the whole "I hid under the porch because I love you" thing too! Third most favorite Pixar film right behind WALL-E and Finding Nemo.

I was the same way. I was kind of glad I saw it alone, so I could let out all my tears instead of having to stifle them! I'm such a softie anyway when it comes to movies. I enjoy crying at movies if it's a movie that makes me cry...it feels good if it's a good movie. It's weird, I know, but that's how I feel!

I loved that, too! I loved everything that came out of Dug's mouth, though! He could be my favorite Pixar character now. No, actually...maybe he's tied with Jack-Jack? I do love Jack-Jack...

I'm the same way. IMO it's perfectly natural and real, and reminds us that we're human and alive, which is a good thing, and feels good!

The scene with the book really got me, too. And the opening sequence. And the finale...

Well, here's my own super short review of Up:

It's so far, and by far, the best film of the year. See it in 3D and bring some hankies.

Unfortunately, the film was a bit of a let-down for me. It was really funny, and heartfelt, but it lacked that magic spark that some of the earlier pixar films dealt in spades. 4/5.

I just got home from seeing "Up" and I have to tell you, Pixar is a perfect 10 for 10! I don't think they know what bad is! I really, really enjoyed this film. Don't want to give anything a way, I'll just say it is my fav from the Summer this far and I can't really see any of the forth coming films doing much better. Go see it if you have not done so already, you'll like what you find!!!

I saw it in 2D earlier this evening and am going to see it in 3D at a differ theater....

I loved it....although I have to admit... that the beginning of the movie did get me crying....I liked it though..It was original and I didn't feel like there was another movie similair to it at all...a Pixar Original...and Pixar at its best....and of course Ed Asner as Carl was fantastic....and It was kinda cool because people at the end of the movie were like who's Ed Asner.....and i wanted to scream out to the audience I MET HIM AND IMPRESSED HIM ON THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO (during the Leno era which ended tonight)

It was a great movie, but I'd still probably put it below the Toy Stories, Cars, Monster's Inc., The Incredibles, and A Bug's Life... and maybe Finding Nemo.

I feel bad though.... I think my favorite part was the teaser for Toy Story 3 >_>_>_>_>_>
