You can do that with PowerDVD 5 or later. It is easiest to do via the keyboard:
T = advance one frame
C = capture the frame.

So if you want to capture consecutive frames, you'll simply have to hit C T C T C T C T C... from the keyboard.

In the beginning, however, you need to press T some 5 times before getting the next frame (a bug, I guess).

The latest version (v. 8) of PowerDVD works fine with Blu-ray discs as well. It isn't free but it's worth it. However, you'll need other software to allow you to capture screens from HD material.

The website advertised on TBC trailer doesn't work for me. Has anyone gotten it to work?

It's not active yet. Will probably be activated sometime in the near future. Disney has a tendency to release promo material with unactivated websites advertised on it.

It's true, it took quite some time for the 101 Dalmatians: Platinum Edition website to be updated. We haven't even seen cover art or gotten a press release or anything yet, so it will probably be a while.

Disney really isn't promoting this release. To my knowledge the only movie the new trailer has been on is The Secret of the Magic Gourd. And, let's face it, that's not a movie everyone is really into. I was surprised when it wasn't advertised on Pinocchio, considering it's a "boy" film.

Also, the new 2-discer Lilo isn't being advertised that much. For it to be released this month, I haven't seen it's trailer on any dvds/blu-rays. And liloandstitch.com is still for Lilo & Stitch 2.

There is a trailer for The Black Cauldron: Special Edition on the upcoming Bolt DVD and Blu-Ray. There is also a trailer for Lilo and Stitch too, which is dumb, because it comes out the same day as Bolt. I think it is still a little early to much promotion, it'll probably be released in mid-June, which is still three months away.

I agree with Simba3. Disney doesn't typically put much thought into advertising the low key DAC rereleases. Trailer's for the Oliver & Co. DVD were rare on Disney releases until about a month or two before the release. Disney had minimal TV spots to advertise it. For the most part, I think they sell themselves. I think the real target market for these releases are parents on their weekly shopping trip to stores like Wal Mart and Target who see the films on the new release wall and remember it fondly, so they get it for their kids.

I think I read somewhere that more than half of a DVD's sales happen in the first week when stores pay them special attention by placing them on the new release wall.

Although I'm not sure how well that strategy will work for The Black Cauldron since it is not widely known about or very highly regarded amongst those who have seen it. I am a fan of the film and will most likely replace my GC version for the anamorphic transfer and hopefully some form of a restoration has been done.

Well, I am still hoping this SE of TBC won't be a letdown like some others I know.

Heck, I'm even hoping the deleted scenes part isn't a joke, let alone hoping they're actually scenes cut from the final product. :x

Well I wouldn't hope for too much. The single disc releases of DAC's have been very bare boned for the past couple of years, especially more recently with the evolution of Blu-Ray (Oliver & Co., The Sword in the Stone, etc). And though "The Black Cauldron" seems to be sort of a "cult classic" around here, it is definitely one of the lesser known of the Disney titles. Therefore, the release will probably be incredibly skimpy. I honestly could care less, I usually feel like the more the better. However, I the only reason I'll be buying this release is simply to have it in my DAC collection.

Reminds me. I know this isn't Disney's best work ever, but that doesn't mean that they gotta go and make sure that this movie isn't advertised too much. :x

I mean, didn't the movie get advertised a lot when it was released on video back in 98? :?

I still have yet to see the actual movie, so that's reason enough for me. Though Disney should give this better advertising than I know they're going to do. If it weren't for the Internet, I wouldn't notice this one at all.

I haven't seen this movie. I friend was gonna give me the '98 tape (his parents agreed, TAKE IT), but his little brother (9 years old) said "NO! I like that movie." I'll probably just pick this one up to have in my DAC collection.

I will be glad if it even *gets released* in Europe, since we haven't seen Oliver & Company's most recent edition yet. Which is strange, since we did get Sword in the Stone, The Aristocats and Robin Hood.

Hmm I live in Europe (the UK) and I have "Oliver and Company: 20th Anniversary Edition" it was released the same say as "Mary Poppins" (which was a week before Pinocchio). Is it just the UK that got this within Europe?
