Christopher Lee!?!?!?! YAAAAAAAY!!!!

Now, let's hope that none of the following happens:

a) It turns out to be a false rumor.

b) He films his part, but then Burton decides to cut it, leaving a gaping plot hole only to be resolved in the much longer extended edition of Alice.

c) He is in the film for 3 mins before his character is killed off

or

d) he is officially cast, but then his part is discarded, deemed "not right" for the movie

These seem to be the pitfalls that Mr. Lee is prone to.

Excellent! My favourite living actor. The best Dracula, and an excellent Jinnah.

A bit of trivia about the White Knight: Lewis Carroll disapproved of Tenniel giving the character whiskers, possibly because he based the character partly on his clean-shaven self. If the character is included in the film (and, with the Tweedles in it it isn't impossible), it will be interesting to see urton's decision.

I'm sure this will be an excellent movie, but it will be 100% excellent if they have this line in the movie.

"Oh you can't help that, were all mad here, you may have noticed that I'm not all there myself."

OR

"Have a cup of tea indeed!" And then slams her hand on the table.

Well, get ready for disappointment then, jeremy. Those two lines are Disney lines, not Carroll ones, so I doubt they'll show up in this one. The book has something similar for the first one, though, and it's probably what the movie will use:

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat. "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat "or you wouldn't have come here."

Oh darn lol, oh well its okay I like those lines too heh.

Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter have been confirmed.

Now it sounds like a Disney movie... guess she's come back!

That is totally unexpected, but still FANTASTIC! I love Anne, and I can't wait to see her in this!!

And it's way different than the disney movie (a sequel maybe, set 10 years after the original disney version? That would explain the older Alice...)

Not to hedge here, but i'm sure Tim Burton was the bigger draw in Anne coming back to do a Disney movie. He's one of those directors that I think every actor wants to work w/at least once, and as you can see, if you work well w/him he tends to bring you back in future productions.

I'm insanely giddy right now! I'm a big Hathaway fan, and I love that she's been cast in this (even if the White Queen is supposed to be an old woman). I'm assuming she'll put on an accent to blend with the rest of the cast better, especially since there's a 99.99% chance Depp will be putting on one, as well.

What excites me even more is that there's an actual plot revealed. So in this film, the White Queen and the Queen of Hearts are sisters, and the White Queen has Alice hunt down a Bandersnatch? Carroll purists may get up in arms over this, but I'm extremely fascinated. I knew that Burton and Woolverton did some alterations to connect the episodes together, but I didn't think they'd take it this far. Such a change takes some serious guts, and it'll be refreshing to see an Alice movie with at least a semi-linear plot line and goal.

So I wonder if this means that instead of red chess pieces verses white ones, this will be a war between chess pieces and playing cards? Either that, or Burton's getting rid of the card aspect completely and is just making Helena the Red Queen with the Queen of Hearts' characteristics (which is what the article seems to be implying, but they could be mistaken). Either way, the more I think about it, the more excited I get.

More castiing info, please, Disney!

Sky Syndrome, thanks for that Youtube video. I didn't actually really see the Burtoness, but I wasn't really looking anyway. But I just loved the whole concept for that version and how it was done! Pretty brilliant with the taxidermied rabbit and the way he became the White Rabbit and the drawer and how Alice went in. Except...I don't get why the drawer was outside, but whatevs, at least then it's like the source material, since she saw the rabbit outside, and it was cool how she got outside in this version!

Disneykid, my Alice aficiando friend Michelle lent me the books to read, and I did, but I don't remember the bandersnatch. I hope they didn't make it up just for the movie.

Also, I wish characters would stay seperate. It's like eliminating the Queen of Hearts! And she's in Wonderland, the title of this, not Looking Glass land like those White and Red queens are from, right?

But if you're happy...I guess that makes it good!

The White Queen, wow this is probably going to be the most faithful to the book if you don't count the extended intro.

A little/lot off topic, but Disneykid have you read the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol 2? I suggest you try to borrow a copy and see how many Alice/Carroll references you can find in the Traveller's Almanac at the back.

This is way off-topic, but Kelvin, have you read The Looking Glass Wars or Seeing Redd? I'm interested in reading them, but would like to hear an opinion on them first.
