Don't forget though, titles can go OOP at the drop of a hat. It's possible you could check tomorrow to find that all retailers are listing it as OOP.

Also rereleases have come out the UK whilst the previous edition was still in print.

Chances are it still is in print if both online and offline retailers stock it, if it wasn't it would at least say "Unavailable". I wish they had an OOP list on the Disney UK website so that we would know when they expire. I had no idea Aladdin had been stopped at the time, until I found out through these forums. It's ridiculous!

I think that's unfair! I get my Disney DVDs usually the day the come out (or maybe a few days later), so it doesn't really affect me but for those who don't get there's early, they might decide to pick up a copy of a certain release at a later date only to find it's OOP without any warning.

I was thinking that the edition title for "The Aristocats: 2-Disc Special Edition" should've been "40th Anniversary Edition".

The movie is not 40 years old, it's more like 30 years old.

But it's not it's 35th anniversary

There's an "Aristocats" trailer on the Peter Pan Platinum Edition DVD! The Peter Pan Platinum Edition also includes the "Return to Never Land" trailer and the "Jungle Book" trailer.

Is there going to be a UK release for this? As we still have the single disc version around.

The Aristocats is an awsome animated classic, with tons of excellent voice talents inculding Eva Gabor (The Rescuers and Green Acres)

I just hope that this Edition is in Widescreen, becuase if it is then Disney has been holding out on pervious editions of there animated films, such as Robin Hood. If Aristo, is shown in widescreen then hopefully the rest of the Animated Classics, such as June's Winne The Pooh and Oct's Jungle Book will be in Widescreen.

Well it looks like it is definately a widescreen release this time, atleast thats what im gathering since the trailer for it on Peterpan is in A Matted Widescreen aspect ratio.

the trailer also trumpets a a newley rediscoverd unused song. i wonder if theres any chance this was recorded and just not animated. if so maybe just maybe it could be inserted in to the movie ala beauty and the beast, and pocahontas
Awesome iam really excited for this now.

Watching the trailer today on my new copy of Peter Pan got me really excited about the upcoming release of the Aristocats. It's been a little while (since Pocahontas I believe - but I'm not positive) since Disney released a 2 disc edition of a film, outside of the Platinum Edition line. The trailer said there would be a newly discovered song among the bonus features. And other than Thomas O'Malley's arguable lazy eye (which I can kinda see) I think the cover art is really beautiful as well. All this leads me to my question...

Am I the only one that is COMPLETELY ANNOYED at the fact that there is STILL no release date for The Aristocats?

You are right about this being the first 2-Disc non-Platinum since Pocahontas, and you are not alone in your annoyance. I feel with everyday we don't know the date, Disney is changing the release to singlw disc (ala 2005's release of Tarzan).

They have already advertised (both in the trailer and the insert in Peter Pan) that it will be a 2-disc edition, I doubt they would change their minds now, it's a little late. At least, I hope they don't.

They advertised Tarzan as a 2-discer, but when October '05 came around, the edition had just one lone disc with minimal bonuses inside.

I hope that you are correct. Mind you though that with advertising for "Tarzan" and "The Emperor's New Groove," they were both to be respectively re-released editions of their previous Collector's DVD. However, the 2-disc set didn't last, and it was paired down to a single disc, but at least it kept the audio commentary. Of course, why would anyone say something is something else when in fact that something was placed in a disgustingly large and percarious handbag that just so happened to belong to a certain Prism, who accidently mistook that something, or someone in this matter, for a quite well written 3 volume novel, and left the handbag in the Bracknell line railway station. Of course, there is a certain Bunburying technique that can prove to be rather usefull in times like those.
