I will definitely be getting both of these DVD releases. Bring on Talespin, Darkwing Duck, Aladin, etc...

Well we still don't know the contents of Volume One, why wouldn't they put Golden Suns on the first disc? Of course they will. It's episode one and it starts off the series

Hmm..maybe they will keep this as it originally aired in 1 big episode or divide it up like they did in later years as 5 episodes. I wonder if that would some who make the 27 comprable to the total episodes?

Either split or as whole, I don't mind

Your counting the Golden Goose as 2 episodes.

Ducktales had a total of 100 episodes, not 88. I'm pretty sure the multi part episodes were seperate episodes before being cut together to make a feature.

A lot of cartoons did this in the 80's (to name a couple Thundercats with 'Ho! the Movie' and She-ra with 'Secret of the Sword')

Usually bits and pieces are cut to make the feature flow better.

It's useless sites such as TV.com that have it all wrong Their guides are fan made and usually very inaccurate.

They should have the following episodes listed as episodes 1-5:

1/Don't Give Up The Ship
2/Wrongway to Rongwuay
3/Three Ducks of the Condor
4/Cold Ducks
5/Too Much of a Gold Thing

Treasure of the Golden Suns should be marked as a one off TV special and not part of the main episode guide.

Probably unlikely, but I just hope Disney haven't used TV.com as referrence

I agree. It would be very, very stupid for the pilot episodes to not come out on this release! This will totally spoil the set if it isn't on it and will probably put me off buying it for now.

1/They need to come out in correct order, so the Treasure of the Golden Suns 5-part story would need to be released on DVD before the first regular episode volume. Which is obviously not the case

2/They need to be in episode form (not the TV movie versions!)

So I'm pretty much hoping that the TVshowsondvd episode list is wrong and Don't give up the Ship, Wrongway to Ronguay, Three Ducks of the Condor, Cold Ducks and Too Much of a Gold Thing are included on the first boxset volume.

If these are not included I won't buy the volume 1 set, at least until the 5-part Treasure of the Golden Suns story is released on DVD. I prefer to watch the series on DVD in the correct order and not have episodes missed out because Disney can't be bothered to do their homework on a series they own.

The TV movie versions are not the original form. The seperate episodes are the original form. Again I agree that giving them seperate releases in not a bad thing so long as they are released in the correct order.

Treasure of the Golden Suns needs to be the first release (even before the first volume boxset)

What are they playing at? Don't they realise that the buying public usually likes to know what they are buying before purchasing an item!

Come on Disney get your backsides into gear and let us know whether these sets will actually have episodes 1-27 or episodes from all over the place!

They really do need to address the Treasure of the Golden Suns and To The Rescue question. Will they be on the first volume of each series and if not, Why Not?

I can see your point, but you are forgetting one thing.

The TV Movie, Treasure of the Golden Suns was originaly a one of - i.e. no series. After the Disney execs saw the finished product, they liked it so much they decided to make it a series, which became Ducktales. Treasure of the Golden Suns WAS NOT make in 5 parts, it was a TeleMovie. I can't vouch for Bubba and Gizmo, but I'd go with Telemovie seing they were seriously considering releasing one to cinemas.

I don't specifically remember cut parts from "Golden Suns" but in "Super Ducktales" The scene where Scrooge meets Fenton was cut. Originally Fenton tried to see scrooge multiple times and he ended up getting the job because of his counting abilities. Scrooge throws some change in the air and Fenton counts it. This was never shown in the episode version.

That's more censorship rather than cutting for air time - I know that episode runs short compared to most.

Yep, this episode was censored. There was an unedited episode version with a scene mentioned by corrwill. It was aired here in Poland in 1992.

Yes that right, Scrooge is so fed up with Fenton pestering him about the job, he chases him out nof his money bin with the shot-gun.

I was reading through a website a few years back that detailed in DuckTales episodes that were cut. I was suprised to see how many episodes have now been cut

So no Treasure of the Golden Suns episodes on this boxset and from a previous email no plans so far to release those episodes!

It's great that Disney is putting these out and all, but missing the pilot out and squeezing 10 episodes on one disc doesn't sound good for these releases. I'm gonna pass on them.

D'oh! That just don't make any sense... why do they omit the pilot? Putting it on a separate disc is the only reasonable reason, but no info about the upcoming release _is_ something to be worried...
And if they know what they will put on those discs, why there isn't any official information? For God's sake, this is very important for the potential buyers!

10 episodes on one disc suggest that there gonna be some special features on discs two, but again... why don't they spread them over two or three discs? There might be a longer docummentary that needs more space, but I'm quite sceptical about that. Well, maybe that's just a mistake.

Still, I believe, that Disney will do _everything_ to release this show in a way it deserves and I cross my fingers that the first news about finally releasing this great show wasn't the last _good_ news about it!
