Sorry, I said the Moana singing doll was from Hasbro, and it seems it isn't. I saw in an image a couple of days ago that Hasbro had a Moana singing doll, and I thought this was the same doll, but the one from Hasbro looks different.

I don't know where the doll in the video is from. There seems to be a lot of different dolls for the character. But the Hasbro doll is a singing doll too, so maybe it sings another part of the song.
Regarding the song itself, it isn't bad and Auli'i Cravalho sings really well, but it sounds like a typical Broadway song and I was hoping the songs would have a more Polynesian sound.

The first one you posted was from the Disney Store. They have a line of singing dolls for most of the princesses.
I'm not surprised about the Broadway vibe of the song, but I really like it from what little I heard. She has a really great voice!

You're right. I hadn't noticed that.

Doubtful.

Maui’s song is titled “You're Welcome”.
Musker says 6-foot-4 Johnson, who is half-Samoan, was the natural choice to play Maui in Moana's Pacific Island-centered story. The Rock worked obsessively on his showpiece number You're Welcome, by songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda flew to Miami with vocal coach Sam Kriger to help The Rock polish the performance.
The director vows that people are going to love what The Rock has cooked up vocally.
"It's going to be fun," Musker says. "Dwayne even joked in the studio, 'So I’m going to be doing this song at the Oscars, right?' It was in jest, but he just did an amazing job."

They may just be out of stock, I know the toy story collection toys would disappear and reappear all the time based on whether or not they were in stock.
If it turns out they did take them down because of the controversy, I'll be over here shaking my head.

You better start shaking.
The team behind Moana has taken great care to respect the cultures of the Pacific Islands that inspired the film, and we regret that the Maui costume has offended some. We sincerely apologize and are pulling the costume from our website and stores.

Of course Disney listens to this and even the Merida controversy but they don't care that Beauty and the Beast (and Cinderella and countless other classic films) have been given botched restorations which they release over and over. Not to mention it matters how Merida is depicted in merchandise, but it's no big deal if the other princesses are being shown as just as out of character as she is. Whatever Disney.

I liked this new spot! It showed some compelling shots of Moana herself.

She's obviously the Ocean equivalent of Elsa, hahahaha!

. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

^I wouldn't say there were any spoilers. A couple of new details taken from the beginning of the film, but nothing I'd call a spoiler (especially if you already read about the footage shown at Annecy).
The Russian trailer was much better than the American (and the Brazilian) one. Thanks for sharing, D82.

The trailer reveals that
the volcano god takes over the island and possibly kills (doubt it) Moana's parents

Don't mention it.

I liked the previous trailers too, but I agree, this one was probably the best.

I don't think they would kill Moana's parents. Especially after they recently killed both parents in Frozen and after Moana's grandmother also dies at the beginning of the film. Besides, if that was the case, they wouldn't give it away in the trailer. Many times in films it seems there's no possible salvation for the characters and they come up with something to save them. This could also be a nightmare or a vision Moana has in the film.
I don't think the volcano god will take over the island either. The black cloud or smoke doesn't come from the lava monster but from the island of Te Fiti. Or at least that's what I understood from the reports that described the first minutes of the film:
Maui uses his magic fish hook to pry the jewel free. However, doing this gives birth to a darkness, a cloud which begins to envelop the island and chases Maui away and back to his boat. His troubles are not over, however, as he's then approached from the other side by a demon who wants the heart for himself.

The most spoilery thing for me was that Moana has the jewel in her power since she's a little girl. I don't remember having heard that before. I thougth she had to find it in her voyage. Maybe it's the ocean who brings it to her at the beginning of the movie.

Some news about the music. The song the Moana doll sings is called "How Far I'll Go" and we can now hear the song snippet in better quality (Press the loudspeaker icon below the image to listen to it):
https://www.disneystore.com/dolls-toys- ... 5/1000259/
Update: These are the lyrics according to
this website:
See the light where the sky meets the sea, it calls me!
And no one knows, how far it goes.
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me, one day I’ll know.
If I go, there’s just no telling how far I’ll go!

Well, at least the Russian trailer was more dramatically even and showed the dramatic parts. Both at the beginning and the ending.

Here are two new book covers, but they are a bit spoilery. The first is from the beginning of the film and shows a new story detail about the green stone. If you've seen the Russian trailer, it won't be too spoilery for you. The second I think is from the very ending, just before the credits. It isn't anything unexpected, but if you don't want to know the ending yet, don't see the image.

Clever artist with the first book cover, though I thought for sure they'd be more open about showing a little topless toddler girl. It's perfectly normal for kids to do that...
EDIT: I feel the need to clarify; toddler Moana in a lot of the merchandise has been "covered up" in one way or another, and it just perplexes me that trend is happening. Do people find topless little girls offensive, truly?
Also, I recently saw on tumblr
some images of dolls and plushies that have the same outfits as the second book cover. So maybe not a strong spoiler?
