Deathie, I actually started this topic. I had a list of films that I was thinking of buying and I was wondering which should I prioritise. The forum said A Bug's Life, but despite their advice, I bought Brother Bear as a blind-buy. I know that I shouldn't blind-buy, but with the rental copy down at the local video shop being displayed poorly, what other choice is there?

buy disney dvds. reload them too.

I like Brother Bear, the wide Panavision version

I would say either Oliver or Nemo.

I myself am considering getting Oliver and Company, but I thought all gold collection dvds were getting rereleases!

Anything 2-Disc in the collector's edition is worth buying
Plus, those are great movies!

I'll say The Rescuer's Down Under, mainly because it's the only one from your list that I've seen. However, I hear that this "Nemo" movie is pretty good.

Oliver & Company it's a great flick, and will probably not be rereleased anytime soon!

I'm not 100% sure about all the 1 Disc Editions getting re-releases, Kelly. I think that only a select few are getting reissues. I think that the A-List titles are being/have been reissued as 2 Disc Sets (such as Alice, Mary Poppins, Pocahontas), but I think that films such as Oliver and Company are considered B-titles, therefore probably not getting a re-release.

I havn't seen them all, but you should deffinately get the original! I also like the search for Christopher Robbins, it's a cute movie... then again they'll all be ccute movies, lol

Yes, totally go with the original (The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh). It's based directly off of the A.A. Milne books and is by far the most charming of the Pooh films. Plus, it has a beautiful transfer and some nice supplements.

Other great Pooh movies are The Tigger Movie, Pooh's Heffalump Movie and Piglet's Big Movie.

I think you should get..

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh- You can't go wrong with this original classic.

The Tigger Movie- Adorable second theatrical release for Pooh.

Piglet's Big Movie- Just as good Tigger, and once again, completley adorable and heartwarming.

I also recommend the DTV releases such as..

Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo
and
Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year

I think they are just as good as the other films, but they do not have as much "watchability" considering they are based on the seasons and different holidays...

Ohh...and Pooh's Heffalump Movie is coming out in May/June..I haven't seen this yet, but I am definatley purchasing..

I agree with Little Merman the only other ones that weren't mentioned were:
UnValentine's Day/A Valentine For You, Spookable Pooh/FrankenPooh, and the one I don't own yet Season's of Giving.

I liked A Very Merry New Year as well as Springtime with Roo (It's really an Easter movie...not really about spring).

I really like - of course the original, the tigger movie, very merry pooh new year, book of pooh:stories of the heart. Didn't like the search for christopher robbin, just too much action and adventure for these characters I think. Thought Springtime for Roo and Piglet's movie were just made on bad premesis.

Well, I'm a little obsessed with WTP, and I have most of the DVD releases (except the three most recent 'Magical World of...' releases in Australia).

If you are only going to buy one, absolutely go for the original Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Not only is a fun movie, it has a a nice set of extras to go with it, including the 25-minute featurette, 'The Story Behind the Masterpiece' and the so-so 'A Day for Eyeore' short (which runs about the same length of time).

The feature length 'Pooh's Grand Adventure' is the only other proper "movie". Although it is DTV, it is a feature length story, and keeps closest to the original in terms of "spirit". To me, "The Tigger Movie" and "Piglet's Big Movie" seem more like a collection of shorts than proper movies, but they are still quite fun. "Springtime with Roo" fell a little flat for my tastes.

A Very Merry Pooh Year is also a collection of various shorts, but I would recommend that as well, simply due to the fact that Christmas Pooh is always good, and it is also very sweet.

Tigger is one out of 2 of my all time favourite characters, and if you ask me get The Tigger Movie! I had it on video but havent got round to buying it on dvd yet, but i will.

I'm surprised to hear such a comment from our resident Australian Pooh Expert! I still haven't seen <i>Piglet's Big Movie</i>, but I didn't think that <i>The Tigger Movie</i> felt like a collection of shorts at all. Certainly no more than any other.

Haven't seen <i>Pooh's Grand Adventure</i> either or <i>Pooh's Heffalump Movie</i>...yet. But I honestly can't say that I haven't liked any of the Pooh films. The ones that recycle animation are a bit more dubious, but the TV show was good fun, so recycle away.

get the original. I've avoided most of the newer stuff, but from what I've seen they can't compete with the original Walt Disney version.

I'd definitely start with Many Adventures...(it's the only one that everyone in our family seems to be able to enjoy), and then move on to the DTV's-lately I've been watching old tapes of the TV show, and they're really "endearing"...
