Well I don't really have movies that I hate... but out of what I have seen that I didn't really like are The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hercules.

*new here*

I would have to say that my least favorite would be The Hunchback of Notre Dame. In my opinion the movie is too dark (it does have some cute scenes, but overall i was not impressed). I love the way Disney can make you feel like a kid again, and this one just didn't do it for me. Maybe my expectations were too high. The movies released the few years before it, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Pocahontas, were the best anamations that Disney made in my opinion. I was been somewhat disappointed in Disney's 2D anamations since 2000.

Welcome the forum, kk1124!

Is HoND really your least favorite? Not even reading a few opinions could change your mind?

Something about the year 2000 (and beyond) doesn't fit right with Disney. :?
Things were so much better when I was a kid... 8) We had better movies & cartoons!

Thanks for the welcome RJKD23!!

It's not a pure dislike of HoND. I believe from an adult perspective that it is a beautiful movie, but i don't consider the dark scenes or themes kid friendly. I know many other Disney films center around a murder, but the priest attempting to sexually assault Esmerelda was a little too much for me.

As far as new cartoons being better than the older ones, I just can't agree with that point. As a child of the 80s, nothing can top Care Bears and the like. While the anamation of the new cartoons is advanced, storylines of cartoons such as Pokemon and Spongebob don't hold a candle to the favorites that I had as a child. Maybe that's why they are rereleasing toys from Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Strawberry Shortcake for example.

With the exception of the Pixar films, the lastest Disney anamations haven't wowed me. I find them enjoyable, and I do plan to collect them all on DVD. But I haven't seen one in a while that I want to watch over and over again.

True, HoND is not kid friendly. ugh, I wish they could just release this thing now so I can remember every detail! :p

I think it's fair to say that HoND tries to be a more adult film than most of Disney's animated features.

On the other hand, I guess it tries to be "kid-friendly", too.

Not always an easy task...

I think you make a good point Lars Vermundsberget. HoND is a little of both.

It seems a lot of films lately are trying to be both. Kid-friendly with anamation, but the jokes tend to be geared at adults. The jokes aren't necessarily off color, but they sometimes mention things that most young kids have no clue about. Not sure where I've seen it, but I recall impressions of Nixon's "I'm not a crook" and OJ's ill-fitted glove in anamations, not necessarily Disneys. This is not a complaint though. Now that I'm in my 20s, I'm glad that Disney has found ways to keep every generation entertained.

Welcome kk1124!!!

Yah, some of teh toons of those days were good ones, as The Thundercats
The care-bears was(for me) too goods(on that times, I liked more to see horror movies like "The Dentist" or the ones of Fredy Krugger), if there was one I liked it was when they make a remarke of the serie when they added a little girl who always screamed and her fuzzy friend, it was a good toon.

Bite your tongue. Pocahontas' original story was just NOT appropriate for children. There's no way they would have understood the complications of the actual events that took place. In fact, I'm starting to think you must be a child for not understanding it. And you can't say a movie is bad quality for the story it intends to tell or because you don't agree with it. Disney took the high road in this situation, and Pocahontas was much better than most people regard it.
