This makes me sad tbh. I pre-ordered the book in March 2020 (when we thought the film was coming out last summer), so I was sad to see it was cancelled. I am however surprised that Disney is not releasing any sort of book tie-ins for the film besides the Golden Book. Every live action release has received at least one or two tie-in novels recently (The Nutcracker & the Four Realms, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Pete's Dragon, Cruella, even Tomorrowland). I have been expecting to see at least a Junior Novelization released for the film, but nothing. It's quite surprising indeed. I wonder if they initially planned for more, but scaled back due to lack of interest. At this point, there's been more chatter about Artemis Fowl (albeit negative) than Jungle Cruise. We're less than a month away from its release and none of the new trailers or promotion seem to have made an impact. It's not my most anticipated film of the year, but I am excited for it. I agree, they're very funny. And it's a clever way of promoting the film.
