"Mickey Mouse Club"? I don't remember that in the article.

My guess is going to be the original (that is, from the 1950s).

According to the Disney History Institute, a Disney fan page on Facebook (where that image came from):

I can safely assume they will be adding a lot more of their back catalog to the service as time goes on.

Considering that the initial list from way back when included "Steamboat Willie", I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If these old cartoons are included in the U.S. as well as the Netherlands, as I hope they are, then I will definitely be more excited than I am already.
I also consider this as excellent news! Most of them have been secretly restored in 1080p I presume, and at last there's a new something to host them!

What I would like to have access to is the True-Life Adventures documentaries and Walt Disney's Disneyland, Walt Disney Presents and Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, where Walt Disney himself is the host. Except from a little extra material on DVDs and some clips on Youtube, I have never seen any of these.

And assuming Kirk Douglas is all right when the service launch, it would pretty cool to thing that one of the main characters from the classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is still around to see his movie becoming available through a streaming service from the same company that made the movie. Nobody back then could have dreamed about what the future would bring in that regard.

With the Netherlands launch, has there been any word on where the Fox titles fall in the app? When Disney screened the app interface, there wasn’t a separate “Fox section” so I’m wondering where do you find “The Simpsons,” “The Sound of Music” or “Avatar” inside the app?

I'm surprised there not doing more cartoon shorts. In addition to the ones mentioned by DHI on Facebook, we also have confirmation on the following:

-Flowers and Trees
-Modern Inventions
-The Skeleton Dance
-Three Little Pigs

I'm also surprised the list includes "The Rescuers Down Under", but not "The Rescuers".

If you're gonna offer classic theatrical cartoons like Donald or Silly Symphonies, it should be all or nothing in my opinion. It is very frustrating to just have a few titles of each series.

When we're talking about the features, one should expect them to start with the oldest titles first.

Agreed. I figured they would have one page for all the Silly Symphonies and one for all the Mickey cartoons, etc. but they're treating each individual short like its own movie.

Here's hoping they add in more shorts over time. Better yet, here's hoping that that's not the full and complete list for day one. Somehow, though, I doubt that, especially since it seems like they have almost every Disney film in existence (and then some) on the list.

Oh, I almost forgot, there is another cartoon I overlooked on that list: "Donald and Pluto".

I believe this list is based on what is featured in the Disney+ beta version in the Netherlands. "The Rescuers" is apparently on the Dutch Netflix, hence why it's not on Disney+ there.

I think people need to be prepared for certain titles not being immediately available on Disney+, due to other streaming deals and rights issues. For example, the first two "Avengers" movies were recently added to Netflix Canada, so they will probably be absent from Disney+ when it launches in Canada in November. It will also be a while before the 2018 movies are added to Disney+, because of their pre-existing deal with Netflix.

There are also certain movies Disney and Fox only have partial rights to. For example, the live-action "Popeye" movie has a chance of being on Disney+ internationally, because Disney owns the foreign rights. But in North America, the movie is owned by Paramount. Disney also has domestic rights to "The Princess Bride" and "The Pagemaster", but not foreign. "Gnomeo & Juliet" is all over the place. Disney owns the rights in some territories, but not all of them (like Canada and the UK).

Anyone know if the transfer of Return of Jafar is the cropped transfer? Would be nice to get it in its original aspect ratio. (or if an unmatted widescreen version exists, even better)

If that's the case, then I hope they don't unload all of the movies there at once. Maybe a large chunk of the movies, and then add the rest in over time, but not all at once.

Disney+ shows (I'm guessing the Originals; maybe movies too) will be available on Amazon Prime in Latin America until Disney+'s launch there in 2021:
