They've been making Tarzan pins even recently so clearly they still have the right to do that. But I know for video games, they don't have the Tarzan license. Hence why he hasn't appeared in another Kingdom Hearts game since the first (or second, I don't really play them myself). Even in Disney Infinity, his character got no mention at all although Terk and Tantor, as purely Disney creations, could appear. But in Tantor's description, they couldn't even mention which film he is from, unlike the rest of the steed characters.

That's interesting; thank you! So it seems that Disney can't use him in media but they can use him for merch...?

I'm not sure about general merchandise either because Disney has been making stuff for the less popular films in the Disney Store these days like Oliver & Company, Pocahontas, Hunchback, Hercules, etc. but there's absolutely nothing for Tarzan. Not anything in the Oh My Disney! collection, or in the recent Disney Princes merch, or even one of their sketchbook ornaments.

Moana was included in the International Women's Day celebration by Disney.

They're not very consistent. They released something similar to this a few months back with each princess associated with a month of the year. There's little to no commonality between that and this. At the same time the UK Disney Store has birthday charms for each month and that classifies each princess differently as well.

Yeah I think she is now officially an official Princess. I'm not mad at it at all, just would like some continuity which I think they are now doing.

Thanks for the heads up! Is it odd that she was added to the website before her coronation? Did they do the same with Rapunzel and Merida?

It's strange the order they've put them is neither chronological nor alphabetical. It just seems random. Was there a reasoning behind this order?

Perhaps they can still use Tarzan for pins since it's a limited edition item that's only available at the parks? I'm not sure how come the only new Tarzan merch they're allowed to make is pins but they are producing two more for the film's 20th anniversary.

I don't understand the pins thing either. Tarzan definitely can't be used in video games as evident by the Kingdom Hearts games (after the first one), Disney Infinity, and Kinect Disneyland Adventures. The lack of any other merchandise, especially in the Oh My Disney! line (which caters specifically to fans of 90s films like Tarzan) can only be explained by a lack of rights though. Otherwise, I'm sure Tarzan would show up in that Disney Prince calendar alongside Hercules and Kronk of all people.

What I don't get about pins is why they are so ridiculously expensive!

I cant really get into collecting them b/c the ones I really want that are released at the parks(obviously I'm not gonna go to a park just to buy a pin) end up going for crazy amounts on eBay. Dont even get me started on those Imagineer exclusives...
