And what does the film being shot in Cinemascope have to do with 3D conversion??? Thats a framing and lens format.... nothing to do with 3D

What a great trailer! IMO, even better than the one done for the Platinum Edition.

Is it me or do all of the voices sound a little odd? Great trailer, though! Funny how they're really trying to make it seem worth the purchase with the whole "First time on Digital HD" thing.

Is it me or do all of the voices sound a little odd?

They did seem somewhat off, like they were dubbed over. Eleanor Audley/Maleficient's opening lines sounded off at first, then at the very end it sounded like Minnie Mouse/Russi Taylor saying the Fauna line that "she just loved happy endings." I'm guess they dubbed some lines over for the trailer, goodness knows why.

I just rewatched the trailer. HOW DID I MISS THAT?! I'm dying!

So I compared screenshots from the trailer on the 2014 JB DE DVD to the 2008 SB PE DVD. Everything is identical except for the framing. Consistent across every screenshot, the framing in the trailer is opened up a teensy bit on the top and the bottom, almost imperceptibly (I chose this image because it illustrates it well, notice the extra space in the eyebrows/fingers). They are identical horizontally. If this holds for disc then I can't see myself upgrading.



Also, going through the film for this purpose I found a cool piece of reused animation I never noticed before:

Well, I don't plan on upgrading anyway. I'm perfectly happy with the PE Blu-ray.

Glad to see they haven't tampered with it further just so they could say "new restoration". When it looks as good as it does, there's no need for it.

I'm starting to think the same. Unless there's some out-of-this-world features, I'll stick with the PE Blu-Ray. Same with Pinocchio.

Exactly what I was thinking; yes this is a shameless tie-in to Maleficent, but at least the movie hasn't been tinkered with unnecessarily. I have actually misplaced by original blu SB disc I only have it on Platinum / Anniversary Edition DVD in the bejewelled storybook box with the making of book. I upgraded to the blu and kept, very fortunately, the DVD version just in case. Now I have no idea where the blu is, so it will be ideal for me to repurchase with the lovely cover art. I only hope the features aren't a downgrade; I'd be happy with the same disc and the usual Maleficent tie in.

New features could be too much to hope for, but I'd love to have a feature about Sleeping Beauty's presence and influence in the parks, especially Disneyland Paris.

I saw this fan made cover on another forum and thought I'd share with you all in case you haven't seen it...



I really like the composition of the cover, especially Maleficent's cloak being part of the staircase, leading Aurora to her fate; it's a neat idea and I think it's a lot more interesting than having Aurora and Maleficent back to back like the official artwork. This one feels more fitting of the film too with the colours but it's probably too dark and sinister and not colourful or kiddy enough for Disney to actually have a cover like this though

Although Malicifent looks somewhat off-model, I still prefer that cover.

Me too! Albeit a bit of tweaking on Maleficent's face, imagining that embossed and shiny would be amazing!
