I think that story book is a good picture of all three, even Rapunzel and Merida look good to me.

Merida hasn't even been inducted into the line, and there is already a petition over her makeover:

Though isn't that an old version of the clip art?

Wow, a LOT of books! :o :o :o :o :o Great finds! She looks so cute! It's nice to see her with the princess, y'know? Can't wait to see Elsa and Anna chilling (See what I did there? :D ) with them in a year.

^ Tiana seems to be getting more attention too, but there seems to be a lack of Jasmine. :(

I'm sure Jasmine will re-appear next year to promote the blu-ray release of Aladdin and the Broadway show.

Yep! Lol. Maybe Mulan and Merida can help them..."kick some ice!"

Because we all know Merida is that old and she just loves to cook and share cupcakes...

One thing is to include her, but why change her design and personality?

PS

Love that Tiana´s adventure has to deal with her fixing stuff with a hammer.

No, I think they mean "in" character. "On model" is a visual term, where "in character" is more a term describing a character's personality and actions. It could be argued that Merida isn't "in character" when she is shown doing things like cooking.

Yes, that's what I meant.

I knew the difference between on model and in character, I was asking if the other person knew the difference, and now I see they did.

In just one day, Disney will celebrate Merida’s inner qualities of strength, bravery, determination, passion and confidence as she is officially welcomed into the Disney Princess royal court. Merida’s Royal Celebration will be hosted at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World on May 11 during Mother’s Day Weekend, a perfect time to recognize and celebrate Merida’s relationship with her own mother.

We know many of our fans are excited to celebrate Merida and are inspired by her story and the spirited optimism she embodies. I sat down with Katherine Sarafian, producer of Disney·Pixar’s Brave, to talk about Merida’s defining qualities and the special relationship she shares with her mother, Queen Elinor.

Q: All of the Disney Princess characters have their own, special inner qualities. What qualities does Merida bring to the Disney Princess royal court?

Katherine Sarafian: Merida is an adventurer and a warrior. She fights her battles, advocates for what she believes in and asserts her point of view. She adores her family, her horse Angus and her sport, archery. Merida refuses to let others tell her who she is. These are such relatable qualities for girls today. I love that there is room for all kinds of girls in the royal court, all of which are inspiring role models. Merida is unlike any of the other Disney princesses we've seen.

Q: Yes, and not only is Merida unique, she is a modern-day princess who embodies qualities that resonate with moms and daughters today. What do you think it takes to be a princess and why do you think Merida is so relatable?

Katherine Sarafian: I know a lot of moms and daughters today who share more open communication and still have different points of view. Not every child wants the same future that her parents want for her, much like Merida. How many of us have chosen a different path in life, but still retained our parents' love and respect? I know I have. Merida shows us that it's OK to tell the world who we are. That's a quality that I feel many girls can relate to today.

"As a Disney Princess, Merida sets an admirable example for all, being brave, strong, passionate, determined and confident," said Katherine Sarafian, Brave's producer. "When Queen Elinor placed the crown on Merida's head, it signified a moment of deep connection, as a mother recognized the spirit, heart and true personality of her daughter. It's moments like these that encapsulate what is special about being a princess, but also resonate with mothers across the world."

Merida is supposed to be between 12 to 14 years? 15 years top.

In the merchandise she looks like 18 or more.

By the way... didn´t stop to think. How is it that Tiana can spend time with the rest of the princesses?

Did she went trough a portal to "Fairytale Land"?
