I so want to see this. It's my second favorite Disney Animated Classic Film and has one of my all time favorite Villains. Also I heard the guy who voiced Jafar is actually reprising his role which if that is still the case, this will be awesome

Also by 2014 this movie will be 22 years old, god I feel old

Also perhaps we'll see the Aladdin Blu ray sooner than later with the news of this musical

The logo is kind of bland, but maybe something simple is best. Still, they could always spruce it up by 2014. I wonder how Alan Menken feels right now. :)

I want to be excited for this. Really, I do. But the more I try, the more depressed I get than excited. Maybe it's because... I dunno...

Oh, yeah! It's kicking out my favorite Disney on Broadway show!! :(

Not really. Disney was planning to shut down 'Mary Poppins' anyway.
Thomas Schumacher also explained why Disney decided to close "Mary Poppins" even though it has been among the top 10 grossing shows for the past six years and top five for attendance: Its profitability wasn't going to last too much longer.

"I could tell that 'Mary Poppins' was coming to a place where it wasn't going to be self-sufficient," Schumacher said. "I can't keep it alive artificially."

Projections showed ticket sales gradually softening and the lavish show facing at least a few months in the red; the show would be in real trouble by the end of 2013. "There's a little bit of science, and a little bit of art, and a little bit of plain old experience that you have to use to figure that out," he said.

In other words, it's all about making money. That's all the company gives a crap about. I wouldn't be too surprised if Bob Iger was really Lickboot at heart. See, this is how I see Iger as of late:

So, pretty much... yeah. I don't know who's worse now, Michael Eisner or Bob Iger.

Of course it's about money. These shows cost money and if not enough people want to see it, why bother? All Broadway shows come to an end sooner of later, barring a few super popular ones.

Sorry for the negativity. It's just not fair to me because...

1) I was going to take my girlfriend to see the show when I saved up enough money.

2) I was eventually going to audition for the show.

But NOOOOOO! Stupid unwarranted karma has to ruin my chances! Life sure knows how to be cruel! :(

I hate playing this card, but in Iraq life is cruel. Or in Darfur or North Korea.

You always act as though the world is ending and everything is out to get you. Look outside and enjoy what you have. You'll feel better.

If you auditioned for the show and got on, you wouldn't be doing it for long if the money didn't come in.

Well, I just hope that if I can't audition for Mary Poppins, they'll hold auditions for Aladdin soon and NOT use exclusively Middle-Eastern people.

I'm not racist, mind you. It's just that I hope they have everyone audition like they do for every other show.

Except for, you know, the other shows that would require non-white casts.

Considering most characters from Aladdin only barely look like Middle Easterners, I'm sure the casting will be open to Hispanics and whites with tans.

Aladdin auditions are this month for "any ethnicity". From the looks of the casting call Jafar, Iago and Kassim have already been cast.

Fingers crossed Jonathan Freeman is back as Jafar!

Me, too. I don't think anyone else could pull off Jafar as well. Nobody could do the maniacal laugh quite right.
