Most everyone is speculating that it will be released then. To me that date makes the most sense since the D23 magazine comes out then.

I went to Barnes and Noble two days ago and got my copy of the Tangled D23... Did they accidentally put it out early?

Probably. I've had that happen to another Disney item though, Peter and the Secret of Rundoon was out two days earlier in my bookstore.

It doesn't surprise me either. I'm pretty sure I got the Summer edition a week or so before it was supposed to be released as well. A little off topic, but I remember when the first Tinkerbell came out I walked into a wal-mart at around 1am and they had started putting it on the shelves. The only problem was that there was still a few days before it's actual release date. I told the manager of the electronics department and they quickly put them all back in their boxes to store till the actual release date. I like to think that I probably saved them from getting in a lot of trouble, lol.

So, it finally is shaping up to be the Disney way of doing a fairy tale...

I have been waiting for a classic fairy tale again from Disney since Beauty and the Beast!!!! I haven't bewen this excited for a Disney film or...in my life for a loooong time!

And it now really, really, REALLY SHOULD BE CALLED RAPUNZEL!!!!! Though if the storybook the film takes place in bears the name Rapunzel, honestly, I will feel better, and be more okay!

By the way, that woman holding the flower totally is Gothel. Doesn't anyone remember this?:



Goliath, you see, other people do see how there is a Disney look. Take for example Sleeping Beauty, it was styled very differently but still very Disney. Even a historian on the recent releases making of said the characters are styled differently but still look like cuddly Disney characters. And even I have to admit they put the Disney cute style on Chris Sanders' Lilo & Stitch. There is a Disney look. One way of telling is looking at pictures and trying to tell which one is Disney and which one is from another studio when you didn't know Disney made such films.

Also, Snow White was not thin at all and Cinderella may be the most realistically proportioned and not too thin either Disney heroine.

My goodness, that certainly was a feast for the eyes ! Thank you so much you guys for sharing ... This story has been so shrouded in mystery; I can't remember the last time there was so much of the unknown about the plotline of a Disney movie.

I'm doing the age-old thing now of deciding how much information to read about now with this movie; dont know whether to spoil myself or read everything I can !

And did anyone think, from these pictures, not only is Rapunzel herself 'heavily inspired' by Ariel .... she actually IS Ariel with no fringe and blonde hair ?! I'm not saying its a bad thing .... but you can tell who is Glen Kene's favourite lady

Thanks so much! So I guess Rapunzel is officially 18 now, she looks more like 16. Maybe why she looks so young is because of her healing powers. She will never need to use Dove!

I don't think I've said this, but the thing that I'm looking forward to, above all else, is Menken's score and the songs with Glenn Slater. It's been awhile since we've had a memorable Menken score (with my personal favorite being Hunchback's score). I mean, the guy is a genius. I would love to have a full-length documentary about him: his childhood, adulthood and, of course, his work at Disney. I really can't wait for the score and songs. Though, from TLM: The Musical, Slater isn't as strong a lyricist as, say, Ashman or Schwartz, but he's decent enough. I'm really excited about this project.

Yeah, I would also like to see a documentary on his life (though that "Renaissance Man" featurette on the Aladdin DVD is a nice over-view of his career). I'm also most excited about Menken's score, seeing as he's one of my favourite song-writers and composers. And it will be nice to see Slater's lyrics in a potentially better film than Home on the Range, though the songs were one of the aspects I actually liked in that film.

I've actually done a video tribute to Menken, if you want to give it a look-see (it should be noted I made this before The Snow Queen was cancelled and before Rapunzel became Tangled):

I just saw Tangled merchandise at Target. (Already!) There were three normal-sized Rapunzel dolls, all which looked more or less the same but had different functions (I can't remember what), a small doll with some clothes and accessories, and a wig for girls. Interestingly enough, from what I can remember, they were all labeled with the old Rapunzel movie logo, with a side label that said something like "As seen in the movie Tangeled.

Interestingly enough, as the movie is supposed to be aimed more towards a male crowd these days, "boy" toys were nowhere to be found.

You're very welcome! Yeah, tinypic can be very confusing but they don't shrink the images, which is definitely a plus. And I took a number of repeats to make sure that I could get the pictures as focused as possible

And agreed, TheSequelOfDisney, the thing I'm looking forward to most is definitely the music. I hope we get some kind of preview in the next trailer they release. And the full-length documentary? Genius idea.

It would be crappy if the final trailer would show the main plot or parts of the movie now that would be crappy cuz they did the same thing for patf, or they simply use the leaked rough trailer
