the logo I believe, the poster is definately fabmade. They'd never use pre-production art for that

I do hope they use an iconic pose like that for the posters and not some funny joke of Flynn tangled in Rapunzel's hair...

It looks like maybe we're getting two different approaches here. Tangled in the US versus a more traditional Rapunzel approach in Europe.

The poster is most certainly fan-made. Very classic, but a little bland in my opinion.

The logo probably isn't fan-made, because it's just the old US one in French. We (or maybe just me) don't know if Disney's changed the title in non-English speaking countries, so that logo could very well be dated, though.

Hi, does anyone still have the rough version of the trailer? Could you post a link please?

Also, can anyone post the first teaser/trailer for Princess and the Frog for comparison since I don't think I saw it. People are saying that they are interested after this but TPATF first trailer/teaser was bad?

And lastly, KennethE, stop bashing Pixar/Dreamworks/A Bug's Life, different strokes for different folks.

disney can call this movie tangled/entangled/intertwined whatever on its theatrical release.but i hope once it's a hit/flop, disney will revert back to rapunzel for its home video release. itll be basil the great mouse all over again

Hate to be a downer, but...the trailer doesn't impress me. As for what's been addressed here, I don't think it's "painterly." To the trailer itself, I thought the use of multiple quotes tried to take this movie more seriously than it is. As if we're supposed to be enticed by the mystery of "magic hair." Really? And I'm a Disney fan; I can't imagine what the general movie-goer would think.

But, on the bright side for people already hopelessly in love with this film regardless, at least this is only one voice of discontent. Commence ignoring me.

Everyone is allowed their own opinion. But I have to say that if you think these shots from the Tangled trailer look the same as the backgrounds in the Tinkerbell movies, then there's really not much to discuss. Because in my opinion, technically those look the same as a Bug's Life. Quite lifeless and gimmicky with a little too much plastic.

In my opinion, these shots in the Tangled trailer breathe a sense of classic Disney fairytale. I'm not saying it looks like a painting per say, but it does look a lot more lively and a lot less plastic then a lot of stuff I've seen in animated feature films lately. Colorwise it also approaches the classic Disney movies as well. I think the hard work shows and can't wait to see what more this movie will bring us. More finished shots will give us a much better idea of what to expect. I have my fingers crossed for some character pics and movie stills soon. And we definately need a teaser poster right about now...

Are there any specific setpieces or moments you hope to see in this movie? Things you are really looking forward to or would love to be a part of the movie? I have a couple:

* I'd love to see some seasonal changes in the movie. Maybe a nice montage while Rapunzel grows up from a baby to a teenager with the changing seasons. I can just imagine the look of that valley she lives in, with changing colors of the leaves and when it snows and the waterfall behind her is frozen.
* I'd love to see a giant storm with lots of rain and thunder and lightning as she's still inside the tower. The tower shaking, and her cuddling up besides the fireplace as the wind howls outside.
* A mysterious entry, reveal of the villain. Something epic and grand.
* Shots of the village surrounding the castle, with lots of activity from a baker and a butcher, people in a market, camera swooping through the place with Rapunzel and Flynn in tow.
* Vaste, grand forest sequences, with lush, rich forests and huge trees as suggested in that pre-production artwork.
* A very epic, rich and detailed castle, like the one in Cinderella. With tapestry's hanging on the walls and paintings, chandeliers, high stairscases with drapping curtains.

Anything you guys want to see? Sets, sequences, jokes, etc?

I don't understand the complaints about plasticity because it's not like painterly leaves or anything even look real at all. They are two different styles, what stops anyone from saying that your beloved painterly leaves are terrible because they don't look real.

this movie looks like its taking the right approach as far as the teaser goes, keep the audience guessing, hopefully they learned from the mistakes in the PAF. What worries me is if this movie is a huge sucess then 2ds future looks bleak

I'm half-serious and half-kidding. I mean, "Rapunzel" is a tamer fairy tale than "Cinderella", at least in the bodily-mutilation way. So, seeing some darker elements from the original fairy tale maybe would be welcome. But I know that this is the Disney version, and that it's not quite the "Rapunzel" story that we know and love.

Other than that, I'd like to see Rapunzel let down her hair. I mean, really, that has to be there. And the teaser trailer made a mention of it, so it has to be there!

She does down her hair. the unfinished trailer shows her using it to escape down the side of the Tower.

Well, first of all, I cannot forget that old concept featuring Rapunzel running happy with flowers in her hair...Well I really hope to see that scene, maybe just after she puts her toes on the ground, celebrating her new freedom in a meadow rich of lush flowers and plants among the forest!!! But also that concept where she washed her hair in the waterfall was enchanting!

I really look forward to seeing Mother Gothel climbing that tower, I mean..I can picture Flynn doing it in a very Alpine way...But Gothel???!!Well, judging by her sophisticated elegant voice, not to mention her attitude in the rough trailer, I really cannot figure out how she would climb that tower without laughing... Well, maybe she can braid the hair up to turn it into a basket or something like that...

That trailer was way more promising that I could hope for. Yay! It leaves audiences guessing and hoping to see past that window. Definitely it delivers that old good classic Disney feel and Mandy's voice seems to be the perfect choise. And yeah, I think it looks somewhat painterly. If only the rest of the film....which I doubt.

"Tangled" is one weird title but I'm not convinced it will be the final title after all. I'm sure that here in Finland we will use the title "Tähkäpää" (=Rapunzel) since France will use the title "Princesse Raiponce". And "Tangled" is so hard to translatse in finnish the way it wouldn't sound totally silly. If we'll get "Tähkäpää" and you'll get "Tangled", then both of those titles would start with "T". And those words are almost equally long so our title will look almost the same as "Tangled" IF it's the final title. Just a little side note.

That trailer was really awesome. It left you with excitement and questions (but really though, "Let down your hair" is really pushing it). Like someone else said a few pages ago (or the last thread), Disney could advertise this in different ways instead of changing the title. Adventure/Dreamworks-esque for boys, Romance/Princessy for girls, and Nostalgia for adults and fans.
