And how is that any different from when people buy a Limited Edition Giftset with stuff like film cels or certificate of authenticity forms that go unused and sit on the shelf?Just.A.Friend wrote:Even then, people are paying 10 extra dollars for a Blu-Ray when they only need or can only use one of the three discs.
You have a point there. But at the same time, think about the general consumers who just wants to watch a DVD, buys the one that's in the DVD-shaped case, and goes home to watch that DVD. Half of them won't give a flying fig that there's two Blu-Ray discs in there because they just wanna watch a movie.Just.A.Friend. wrote:When they get to the DVD packaged one, why on earth would they even THINK that it would be a Blu Ray disc set?
I'm not. I haven't mentioned a word about Disney's "tactic" at all in my last few posts, I've only discussed special features and how people who don't care for them will buy the DVD-packaged Blu-Ray and be content with the DVD of the movie.Just.A.Friend. wrote:Please do not tell me that people aren't going to care.
Well, if the people aren't paying attention to the plain-as-day print on the back of the case (which specifically lists it as 1-Disc DVD and 2-Disc Blu-Ray), maybe they should be deceived.Just.A.Friend wrote:Disney is deliberately trying to deceive these people into buying the Blu Ray versions of the film and you nor anyone else can defend against that statement.

Sounds like you had issues with your DVD player, not the actual discs...tntkain1 wrote:I have no problem with the way they are marketing the blu-ray. I never bought dvd's to begin with because they constantly skipped and they sound would get out of sync with the movies. Blu-rays are much better and are becoming more and more mainstream every day. People should be able to have the hi def picture and sound quality to go with their hi def TV's and sound systems
yeah, they probably needed firmware updates just like the blu-ray players do sometimes. the manufacturers didn't care about their product though. Then when they started to modify all the movies so the "fit " you tv screen I was done. We quit watching movies for about 10 years until blu-ray came outCordy_Biddle wrote:Sounds like you had issues with your DVD player, not the actual discs...tntkain1 wrote:I have no problem with the way they are marketing the blu-ray.
