It's not illegal to make valid points now, is it?

How do you e-mail Disney? I can't find any e-mail adress on their website, only a postal adress...

What do you want to email them about? Because they have hundreds of emails for hundreds of functions.

I would like to know if they're EVER going to put out a two-disc version of The Rescuers. (Yeah, I know the answer already, but I would still like to 'make my case'.) Anyway, how did you get the e-mail adress? It's not available to 'the public', is it?

...you can make your case all you want, the answer is still going to be no. If "Dumbo" hasn't gotten one, I don't think you should hold your breath.

I got the email by being observant. You have to notice names in reviews and interviews, do some google searches - look around. Disney doesn't make itself too available sometimes. You have to be able to seek them out.

Escapay has something to say on just about every thread... So prepare yourself for it to happen all over again next time he disagrees with you.
I love it when people don't like my posts and choose to make snide remarks instead of confront me directly about it.

:D

Only if they disagree with a flawed assumption that someone refuses to budge on despite evidence to the contrary. ;)

Stranger things have happened, Brendan. After all, the TLK sequels got two-disc sets which really stretch the use of a two-discer. Then again, that came at a time when Disney was committed to non-Platinum two-disc releases for animated films. *sigh* Why do things have to change so much in four years?

There is no need to confront you over your posts. You have a right to make annoying posts, the same way I have a right to express my opinion that your posts are annoying. No point in getting into an argument over it. I wasn't making snide remarks, just letting the poster know that it's very common for you to post your "I know the answers to everything" style remarks in almost every thread. Again, your right to do so, my right to find it annoying. It's nothing personal, I'm sure outside of the Disney world you're not so bad.

As for the crossed out RebelPrince1986 statement... I'm not sure what you were going for there, but the reason I created a new account is because I changed my password and when I cam back to the thread months later had forgotten what I changed it to.

It suggests that it wont be released as a Blu-ray, which does and doesn't surprise me.

Thanks Fflewduur for the link and posting it in the Pinnochio PE thread.
Why doesn't it suprise you, that It might not get a Blu release?

Because Disney have already announced their Blu-Ray plans for the DAC's up through 2010, and Oliver & Company isn't on the plans.

Oke. I thought Disney was going "All Blu"?At least, that's what they said from the beginning. What's with that?

I never heard anything from Disney saying they were going "all blu." When they started putting films on Blu-Ray in general they had an add on DVDs that included a list of tentative titles to expect on the HD format with no release dates revealed. It was basically just a list of films that would lend themselves well to HD, including Sleeping Beauty, Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo. At no point during Disney's adds for general Blu-Ray have I ever heard them say they will drop DVD and release exclusively on Blu-Ray, nor have I heard them say anything about all DVD releases also getting Blu-Ray versions.

Like Escapay said, Disney has announced their 2 classic animated film Blu-Ray releases for 2009, Pinocchio and Snow White. In addition, two Pixar films have been announced for spring (A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo) and I have heard rumors that Monster's Inc. could debut on the format in 2009 as well, but I don't think anything has been officially announced. It's not impossible for Disney to announce more releases as the year progresses, but as of right now, those are the only titles that have been announced.

Finding Nemo has been given a Blu-Ray release date in the UK for September 8th and Monsters, Inc. has a UK release date set for June 1. These are typically good indicators of when US versions will arrive, but the rumor is that Nemo will be released on the same day as A Bug's Life in March in the US.

That surprised me. Why didn't Dumbo, one of the most succesful, beloved Classics from the Walt-days get a 2-disc presentation? (Rhetorical question, really.)

I know your question was rhetorical Goliath, but that is something I've often wondered as well. While the 60th Anniversary Edition was reasonable for the time of its DVD release, I was really expecting the Big Top Edition to be 2-disc when I first heard about it and was disappointed to find out that it was simply a re-release of the 60th Anniversary Edition with an added game. I feel the same way about Dumbo as I do with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Both are classic films and the characters are widely recognized and cherished. This applies more so to Pooh than to Dumbo, but I feel the characters from both films have been so exclusively marketed exclusively to kids that WDHE's stance on both is that the films only appeal to kids and that a 2-disc set for either would be a waste of time.

My hope for Dumbo is that with the new 3-D theatrical release, there will eventually be a nice 2-disc set. I feel the film itself is worthy of being upgraded to Platinum status.

As for Pooh, the characters are extremely popular with adults in Japan. My hope is that a thorough 2-disc set will be created for the Asian market and a US version will be released simply because they will have the bonus material already made to serve as filler for either its third DVD release or its first Blu-Ray.

I was remarking on how Oliver and Company isn't exactly the cream of Disney's crop. It just doesn't surprise me that it wouldn't get a blu-ray release. I do have to say that I am very surprised that Disney isn't planning on releasing another DAC on blu other than a PE this coming year. I did expect them to spring something on us. who knows, it could be that Lilo & Stitch could do that (although I still wouldn't hold my breath)
