Good question. It better be, seeing as it was made in a computer and they should just use the source file and on top of that, the other two are in widescreen and the original release was in widescreen, so anything other than would be a bad move on their part.

I have this theory for Ariels hair..

In the first movie, it's never up, in the third either, in the series either.
In the beginning of the sequel her hair is loose. She's happy, two world together, blabla.
She bans the sea.
Her hair is up now, she's unhappy to not be with the sea. That is shown in her hair.
Then, she turns back into a mermaid, her essence, she's happy again. Her hair becomes loose.
At the end, two world are together again. Her hair is loose.

^lol, nice analysis. You rarely ever see anyone analyze Disney films here (we're usually too busy complaining about DVD covers and restorations), especially the sequels!

Oh god. That's amazing. Nice job! lol

Indeed. Sebastian looks... ugh.

The plot was decent I guess... but I dislike the animation and the new characters.

Actually, Sebastian is cut straight out of the original film's cover. I think he's probably the most on-model (with his character in this film).

Yes. They did at least give Sebastian his old personality back.
And even if it's from the original cover, he still looks a little... weird.

I guess it's his yellow eyes. :P

Anyone else wonder what happened to Ariel after LM2? It was obvious she missed her home under the sea and being a mermaid so I wonder if she made numerous trips under the sea..same with Melody. and I wonder if Eric ever got turned into a merman (that would be funny to see)

Well, based on the ending (after Melody makes her decision), it seems that perhaps Ariel remained a human, as did Melody. However, now they are both free to go to the sea whenever they wish, without any threats or dangers to bar them from doing so.

And I second the whole "Eric as a merman" thing . . . He'd make a HOT one. XD

I think it said on the site it said it was 1:66:1 . . . (Yeah, it does - just checked it.) So I'm guessing that makes it wide-screen again. YAY.

Actually, it does make the movie look good, despite how horrid most of the animation ended up. (And yet, I still love it. Why is this?)

I have not seen TLM II yet. I've never seen it shown on TV, or in any store on the old DVD or VHS.

I plan to buy it in the TLM three pack this December.

I'm glad it's in widescreen. For some reason, I feel animation looks better in widescreen. Somehow more beautiful!

because it's Little Mermaid related involving our favorite Mermaid of course!

Eh, TLMII is a mixed bag for me, I like it, but then I don't like it, and I think I like it more then AB, but then I can't really decide which is worse...either way after viewing either or I HAVE to watch the original Mermaid just to remind myself how much its loads better then both. Oh and I forgot, I'm still buying this! Just because I don't have it yet, and well, if I have the prequel might aswell get the sequel! Guess I kinda do like it huh?

But hey, I still love Ariel right? At least shes in them! Though she kinda irks me in TLMII...maybe its the craptastical animation.

I'm only getting it for two reasons:

- To get the trilogy box.
- And to have as much Pat Carroll as possible.

Besides, I can't let TLM be the only non-trilogy on my shelf (after I got Aladdin and The Lion King's).

I was just wondering something about The Little Mermaid Trilogy box set... do you think the movies will come with slip covers? Or do you think they'll just be the cases? I ask because I want to pick up "The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea" but I also yet have to purchase "The LIttle Mermaid III: Ariel's Beginning" so I thought I could just buy the box set and get both... but do you know if they come with the slip covers?

I predict they will come without slipcovers, the UK boxset that came out when AB came out as far as I know comes without them, and when I bought the Aladdin Triology and Peter Pan I&II boxset these two came without slipcovers

When I bought the Mulan boxset, only the original's SE came with a slipcover. I'm not completely sure, but I believe that if the initial release came with a slipcover, so will the edition packed into the boxset. Therefore, TLM and TLM3 should both have slipcovers (since both of them were initially released with slipcovers), and if TLM2's SE is released with a slipcover, then the one inside the trilogy pack will have one, too.

Speaking of, I'm going to be selling my TLM and TLM3 (among other things) to my local Suncoast, so I can get the trilogy set (among other things) for Christmas. Can anyone point me in the right direction for some kind of thread or site that gives reviews for online DVD stores? I'm going to be selling in person, but might have to buy some things online... I've found a few good sites, but just need to make sure they're legit before investing anything. Thanks in advance! :)

Indeed. *slaps head with palm*

In my opinion, Ariel acted a lot like Simba did in his sequel (TLK2:SP), with the whole "overprotective parent" gig and all. (Actually, did anyone else notice her whole "You delibrately disobeyed me" line once Melody revealed the locket for the first time? My GAWD, that line has been overused since the original film it was in - "The Lion King" . . . They needed to retire that line soon, you know.) But at least the story did get quite engaging to me, right?

Vermin Friends: As for the slipcover thing, I thought Mulan II came with one too - My copy (I bought it used from GameStop some months ago) has a slipcover, so I'm surprised that only the original film had one in the two-pack set.

As for the TLM set, I'm not sure if it'll come with the slipcovers or not, but we'll just have to wait and see, yes? Personally, I like the shiny slipcovers, despite it being another way for Disney to kill off the world's tree population.

(So, . . . less than a month to go, right?)

It comes out in two weeks... is it safe to say that the cover art is final?
