I didn't know that the March Hare could appear at the parks.

You know, I'm not going to stand for this; the world WANTS more Roger Rabbit and we're going to prove it to Disney! I made a tweet to them and anyone who's a member please respond and tell Disney you want more Roger Rabbit. Time to give the bunny his due.

The ‘Roger Rabbit’ Sequel Script is ‘Wonderful’, Says Robert Zemeckis, But Disney Isn’t Making It
https://www.slashfilm.com/roger-rabbit-sequel-update/
In an interview with Yahoo promoting his terrible new movie Welcome to Marwen, Zemeckis once again sang the praises of this Roger Rabbit sequel script, but bemoaned the fact that Disney had no interest:
“I don’t know where it fits in in their universe. There’s no princess in it, so I don’t know where that would be. There’s a wonderful script sitting at Disney that is really good, but I don’t think it’s on their radar.”

Can we just ask ourselves this question? Is a Roger Rabbit sequel really worth it? 30 years have passed since the original. Would it be as unique and groundbreaking now as the original was? Also, Bob Hoskins, who was the other factor that really held the film together besides the animation, is dead. Also, considering how Disney is now, it would probably be made a little more kiddy and not have as much of the risque humor that made it popular. Finally, we have enough sequels and reboots that are coming out of major Hollywood studios. I think perhaps Roger should be the one blockbuster that just remains sequelless. If we keep hoping for a sequel that's going to be fantastic and be on par with what we originally had, we're bound to be disappointed.

It doesn't have to be as good as the original. It just has to not be terrible and ruin the characters. If someone says there's a really good script, well there you go, it won't be terrible!

I'm interested in it purely as a smashbros esk cross over of animated characters. That alone has a lot of potential if they can do it in a way that respects the characters. They have a lot of new stuff to draw from in the decades that came after the first movie. And of course the old ones are still welcome too.

I don't think it will work today with how Disney works nowadays. It is such an adult piece that Disney wouldn't know how to market it. Besides I think Roger Rabbit works better as a standalone film, it doesn't really need a sequel, which would have probably turned into a Ralph Breaks the Internet product placement mess than be an actual countinuation of the original.

The time for a sequel was the '90s. Making it now would have been a huge mistake and I'm glad it will never get made.
