I'm sure the DVD will have the original theatrical trailer, but I have a feeling we won't see re-issue trailers. I've noticed that Disney usually only includes re-release trailers when they've appeared on the laserdisc version of the film in question. For films that had more low-key laserdisc presentations, they only seem to include the original trailer. Since Peter Pan's laserdisc falls in the latter category (it was basically just like the single disc SE, only with two storyboard sequences and no commentary), then we'll probably only see the 1953 trailer.
Well, did Lady and the Tramp fall into the "latter" category as well? Because that had three trailers: original 1955 trailer and two of its reissues: one in 1971 and the other being Christmas 1986.
Anyway, I was thinking that if they did more reissue trailers for Peter Pan, it would probably be for the ones in 1969 and 1989, respectively.

Well, I guess I'm one of the few who thinks the cover, in terms of the look of the characters, got worse. Wendy especially looks bad, she's not even looking up at Peter, hinting her romance with him, but is instead staring into space! Then there's Michael, who was farther back before, but now really is going to collide with the sword, though he's reacting to it. Peter Pan himself looks more like a boy and less creepy, so he's a plus, but I think his head is wrong on both covers. I don't remember his head being so long and big. His feather does need to be red instead of pale orange, as noted. Then, there's Tinker Bell, who now comes off as slutty. Hey, I calls 'em like I sees 'em. Either way, she still needs to be smaller, but since this release is to promote her upcoming CGI movie, I guess they're planning on leaving her that big.

I think the way they changed it so Tink is even more outstanding is crap. This is Peter's movie...Tink will have hers

.
Also, it looks silly to have the kids so spread out. And Hook's expression does make him out to look like a pansy.
I agree with everything you said. I'm posting, though, because "It looks like a Special Christmas Edition

" made my day!

I really like the new cover! But I wish Wendy had a bigger role in it; she is too important a character to be so far away.

Funnily enough, I think Wendy looked far more spaced out (and off-model) in the old cover:

I like the new cover. They all look more on-model. Especially Peter, he doesn't look like the Grinch anymore

Wendy has her legs spread out in a most unlady like manner on the new cover. Her finishing school tutors will not be pleased! (Nor will Emily Howard!)

i don't like how the new cover changed micheal and wendy's face. i prefer tinkerbell's face like how it was on the old cover. i also wished that they would've made the ship larger and shiny gold with pixie dust and aloft in the air(like how it was in the movie).

To be honest, I am really not happy about this re-release at all! I would have loved to see Hercules and The Hunchback on a 2-Disc Special Edition DVD.
I was happy with the 1 Disc Special Edition Peter Pan, (Well, I didn't like the quality of the picture but it wasn't to bad)
This could have waited IMO, but oh well, it is coming, YAY

I wasn't incredibly happy at first about the Peter Pan: Platinum Edition being bumped up either. But every time I watch the trailer for the movie, I get more and more excited for the DVD release, and Peter Pan isn't even one of my favorites.

The Danish cover:
The characters have been rearranged a bit... I like how the boat with Crook is more in the back...

I suspect that Danish cover will be revised with the touched up versions of the characters. While I generally prefer ours (I don't like how Peter's no longer in the middle, making it look more than ever like "The Peter and Tink Show", and I like the Neverland background over Hook's ship), there are two things about the Danish cover I like more than ours: The Danish red and gold logo looks better than the American tri-color one, and I like how Hook and Smee are more in the distance, causing Michael to not nearly become sushi.
Peter Pan: Platinum Edition Cover Complaints

Yes, I pretty much agree with everything Disneykid said! I had been thinking all along that the white/silver "Peter Pan" should be made gold to match the gold-lining around the red. Now it only needs three more changes to that: smaller Tinker Bell, more Neverland shown in the background (they can fit a lot to the right of the ship on the Danish cover), and make the pixie dust gold like it actually was in the movie, not white!

Do you all think they're gonna revise it again, in like 2 months?
I'm not too happy with it yet, but the Danish one looks a bit better than the US'.

I really like the red spine on the Danish version. I don't know if the US release will see any updates, if so, I doubt any major ones.
