I'm not posting to answer your statement, Argenbrit, but I just wanted to say that if we call the game with the diamond-shaped, pigskin ball "football", and we call the game with the sphere-shaped, black-and-white ball "football", how will we tell them apart? We should give one of them a name that separates the two(such as "soccer"). In your country, how do you say you want to play American football instead of regular "soccer" football?

Well, we don't play American football here, so I wouldn't know. I get your point, but all I'm saying is that when you compare American football rules and football rules, the name "football" makes more sense applied to the sport you guys call "soccer".
