I finally received
Gay Purr-ee for 19.99 at BestBuy.com. My sister actually ordered it and she gave it to me as an Easter present. Well, a late Easter present is what I called.

American Dad S1 [R2]
Unlike the US, this doesn't include the Family Guy Bonus disc disc, but that content is included in *ALL* R2
Family Guy S4 sets (I think... its been passed by the BBFC).
Wikipedia:
American Dad
Hancock's Half Hour Vol 3 [R2]
These aren't labelled as series being as many of the early episodes are missing from the BBC's film archive, but this is in effect all of series 5, transmitted in 1959. 10 episodes over 2 discs, and the humour hasn't aged a bit.

Nighty Night S2 [R2]
The blacker than black sit-com is back. If you thought the first series was in poor taste, wait until you see this one!

This time, we get a good 2 disc set containing a number of supplements (the
Behind Nighty Night documentary is good covering both series), but alas, no commentary.
"a blistering wall of superbly unredeemed cruelty that manages to trample over every social convention in a pair of cheap stilettos."

Nighty Night
One Foot In The Grave S4 (+ One Foot In The Algarve Xmas Special) [R2]
Pure comedy genius. This was remade as
Cosby in the US, but like 90% of all UK to US translations, totally had the point of the series stripped out of it on it's transatlantic journey.

David Renwick, the creator and writer of all
One Foot In The Grave episodes is one of my favourite writers working today. (Although I almost felt like rioting in the streets when Ali and Gil never got together by the end of his
Love Soup)

King Kong (2005) Collectors Tin + Free King Kong Production Diaries [R4]
Fresh from "down under" my EzyDVD exclusive collectors tin and Production Diaries set. The tin itself is very handsome and embossed, although it is different from Warners' King Kong (1933) tin.

Twilight Zone [2002] S1 [R1]
A six disc set of the 2002 revival series. This can be picked up on Amazon.Com for $18. It's confusing as there's so many Twilight Zones available!
Wikipedia:
The Twilight Zone - Second revival (2002–2003)
Steve Martin 3 Disc Anthology: The Lonely Guy, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, The Jerk [R2]
Sadly,
The Jerk is the old non-special full frame version. The other two films are 1.85:1. Not bad though for £12.99 all-in, especially as these a three films from the time he was actually funny. (I know, I'm such a bitch)

American Dad, Vol. 1 (with Family Guy: Off The Cutting Room Floor bonus disc)
For $34.99 at Best Buy (It was $3 cheaper at Costco but because of the long box covering the cover art where a sticker telling you if there was the bonus disc or not so and because we did not want to go all the back to Costco for it if it did we got it at BB).
Laugh or I'll Shoot Collection
- The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!
- Top Secret!
- Airplane! - "Don't Call Me Shirley!" Edition (without slipcover because of box instead)
At Costco for $19.99 (I was going to ignore this set and buy Airplane, and the naked gun separately but seeing it at that price I was saving money and getting Top Secret for free! But I DO still need The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear & The Naked Gun 33 1/3: the Final Insult so hopefully they go back to Wal-Marts $6.88 bin.)

My order from Columbia House DVD Club arrived, today.
Peter Jackson's King Kong Production Diaries. I loved the movie, and the Post-Production Diaries so much, I had to get this! The packaging on this set is amazing. I can't wait to get home and watch the diaries. I paid $17.99 plus $2.99 shipping for this set.
Brokeback Mountain (Widescreen Edition). I got this for free, plus .99 shipping.
All in all, $21.97. Not bad at all!

Also took advantage of some sales...
Star Trek: The Original Series - Season Two
Star Trek: The Original Series - Season Three
Yes, my friends. I now have every live action episode of Star Trek from 1966 to 2005. If I watched one episode a day, it would take me almost two years to watch them all (again).
The Critic - The Complete Series
Didn't even know this was out here! Almost bought Newsradio, but went with Trek instead...
Straw Dogs
Sam Peckinpah film that was on banned lists for years. Now mine to own for $6.99 Australian (or $5.24 US at the current exchange rate).
Brokeback Mountain
FINALLY arrived from Amazon - it's only taken three bloody weeks! Now I have one of my favourite films of 2005. I think I know how I'm spending the weekend...

Laugh at me if you want, but this was how I went about getting my latest DVD:
April 25th, 2006 - the R1 release date for FFVII: Advent Children. I had been waiting 4 years for this movie. It was my top holy grail for this year. And I wasn't about to let anyone stop me from getting it on it's release date. Sure, Final Fantasy is an "aquired taste". Sure, there wouldn't be a huge rush to buy the dvd a la Star Wars style. But I was hell-bent on getting it on the 25th anyways...as soon as I could manage.
The 25th was a Tuesday - I have morning classes on Tues. and Wed. My college is pretty far from where I live, and my first class doesn't begin until 7:30 am. I usually set my alarm for 4:30 am. But I had plans for this special day (which I had planned out a couple days before): I would set myalarm for 4:00 am, set out to Wal-Mart, buy the movie, then head to college. Besides, having my grail with me would keep me in a better mood.
So I got to Wal-Mart - it was completely dead. I went inside, noticed that all the self-checkouts were closed, and there was only one cashier out of, like, 16. I was almost to the Electronics area when I decided that this was completely stupid. Why am I here? No one else is. I'll never get to class on time, not with only one cashier in the store So I left, was in a horrible mood through all my classes (it didn't help to have pig dissections)...but after class, I was down to Wal-Mart like a freakin rocket, and finally aquired what I had waited so long for. In the not-so-funny-anymore words of Gollum - It came to me...my own...my love...my own...MY PRECCCIIIOOUSS!!!
Yes I'm a faithful fan-girl. But you probably already knew that by now. /ramble

Well in that case... More power to you!

Whatever floats your boat.
At least we share common ground on some of our favourite movies!
