Yay! Thanks for posting Luke! :D

I really really like the CND:RR cover, simple yet elegant. :) The DT one was okay, but I prefer the RR one.

NOW....everyone. Once these sets arrive...who here will actually buy them? :D I'll probably get the RR set for sure. :) Which ones are you all buying?

I have to disagree with Aaron though, I personally loved the DT cover, it looked really cool. I thought the CNDRR looked incredibly "plain", but I still liked it, just not as much as DuckTales.

What really bothers me is the episode mix up! I like it when it's neat and in order. Plus wouldn't it just be easier to have 4 sets with 25 episodes in them!

Oh well at least it's DuckTales is coming to DVD! :D
For releases that are now less than 8 weeks away there sure hasnt been a lot of news. Which is concerning.

The odd math doesn't instill me with a ton of confidence either. It just seems like this should be simple and straightforward and it hasnt been yet.

Yeah, I agree and have noticed that. In just a matter of weeks we will be able to watching these shows again after nearly 20 years since their original airings. Was there any restoration done to the Gargoyles releases? I'm only asking because there has been no news of that for Ducktales and Rescue Rangers. You'd think for such highly popular series there would be more excitement for these releases. I for one will be buying every Disney animated show - - eventually. I will definately buy Ducktales and Rescue Rangers the day they are released. I have a feeling Wal-Mart won't be carrying it. I checked the site and they do not have it. Ha-ha! Amazon.com has the artwork for BOTH sets!! Still no news on bonus features. Sad to say, but I don't think there will be any.:( Its not fair Gargoyles got them, but not these shows? These shows are so much more popular!! I will be very pissed at Disney if this is so. Then again the low retail price usually means that it won't have bonus features. Heck, the price is even lower then the run-of the mill Garfield & Friends DVDs. I guess I would rather have them on DVD at a cheep price and come out quick like Garfield & Friends vs. the slow-paced Spongebob, The Simpsons, etc. Know what I mean? I would like some kind of documentary on the show more then anything. Same with both Ducktales and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. It will be very nice once I can get my hands on these DVDs. I think these DVDs will not have bonus features. Why?
Because you can fit 3 (number of disks) evenly into 27 9 times even. So 9 episodes per disk. Signifigance of that? Well releases like Garogyles had un-even number of episodes per disk. Thus made room for bonus features. Sadly, with these releases there will be NO room for bonus features at all. In fact the video will be comressed some what. I think the video will look rather bad like on the Garfield and Friends releases. When Gargoyles was created Ducktales was already 5 years old and those 5 years in animation history make somewhat of a difference. The video will look very much like Garfield, but hopefully Disney will have the deceny to remove some dust and debris. You can tell that Garfield has not had any debris moved at all. It looks rather bad when you look it at.

Anyway, that is just what I expect.

So to some things up:
You will get 9 episodes per disk.
No bonus features
Video showing its nearly 20 years of age

GOOD MEMORIES though!!

The first season of Gargoyles had 13 episodes, so there couldn't be an even number of episodes per disc. Also, Gargoyles: Season 2, Volume One will hold 26 episodes on three discs and contain some bonus features as well. I don't think having one episode more will rule out the possibility of DuckTales and Chip 'n Dale having some bonus features. It's possible, but I'm still hopeful.

I dont know I didnt really mind the video in Garfield, in fact for the most part it was pretty good. I think people have become spoiled by how high the quality on DVD can be.

I think some episodes weren't as crisp, but for the most part I never even had a second thought about the picture.

I like DVD's and I own a lot of them, i don't want to have to pay $40 for every set I want. The fact that I can get the entire serious of Garfield on DVD with pretty dang good quality for $100 bucks appeals to me.

Ducktales will inherently be in better shape because the production budgets was higher and I gurantee you that Disney had that stored carefully in their vault which will make a huge difference.

The shows still look better than most when they are toon disney, i dont expect DVD to be much bigger.

I'd rather pay$25 dollars and get B+ video, no features and the entire series in a year than wait several years and pay $40 bucks for A+ video and extras.

The Simpsons are a perfect example of the time it takes to do things. At their current rate the entire show won't be out till the 2015 and who's to say if they might not just start all over again if a format changes.

I know that my name isn't Luke, but I'm guessing that it will be a digipack, as that is the usual type of packaging used for TV shows of 3 discs or more...

Actually I think it will be the think cases w/ the DVD unless Disney has released all of their shows in the past with the digi pack.

I'm just guessing here, but note that the packaging says "episodes 1-27" not "27 episodes".

I think that is encouraging that it will be the first 27 episodes in chronological order.

Although the mouse house can't always be trusted with the stuff the put on the packaging! Or is that just BVHE UK!? ;)

if you mean thin cases then I agree with you. I think that they will be like the Avonlea set and have the three slim cases put into a noice outer box (Like the "King of the Hill" releases)

No, he ment DigiPak:
A digipak is a compact disc or DVD packaging. It consists of one or more plastic trays contained in a cardboard of various shapes and forms (typically a book cover format). Usually digipak versions of CDs are deluxe versions commonly containing bonus material as opposed to jewel cases that are usually the regular editions. The downside, however, is that digipak editions usually wear off easily as opposed to rather sturdy standard Jewel Case editions. As a consequence, collectors often tend to leave their special edition digipaks in shrinkwrapping and listen to the standard edition or open the digipak once to make a backup of the music CD.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
But, I think it will probably be cases in a cardboard box. It's what Disney seem to like (Fantasia Anthology, Lion King Triology etc...).

Yeah, thats what I think, but remember those are for the movies that have already been released. (Lion King triology)

I think we will get the small cases in the cardboard box. From the picture it kind of seems like that to me. I'm excited to see what the adds will be in the DVDs like maybe coming Spring 2006 Gummi Bears Vol 1 or something.

Think we will have to wait for all the volumes of Rescue Rangers, Ducktales, and Gargoyles to be released before we get any new ones?

have the audio options for these sets been anounced??

Posted: Sat Sep 17, 2005 1:38 pm
by jamminjake245
Yes. They are Dolby® Digital 2.0 Stereo Sound and English audio. Its weird because the show was also broadcasted in Spanish on Toon Disney. It'd be nice if they would have included that, but I only speak English so thats okay.
