Oh, you know, the cardboard sleeve that sometimes comes with a DVD that people here make such a huge fuss about.Lazario wrote:Oh, is that all?Pasta67 wrote:Slipcovers are what will be the downfall of the world someday.
Actually, the person who made this topic bought Bambi just because the slipcover looked nice and uses slipcovers as his only requirement for getting a DVD.Lazario wrote:People make a big deal out of those?!
Sadly enough, yes. Some people will even refuse to buy a DVD unless it has one...(spotlight on Alan)Lazario wrote:People make a big deal out of those?!
Yeah, you'd be surprised. Did you see the thread here?: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... php?t=9606Lazario wrote:It took me a long time. But I figured that that's what it was. But you know, these slipcovers are really not all that common. Or not until recently. Besides, I never keep them because the same design is always on both sides of the DVD things, those inserts- front and back covers.

To be quite frank, I'm willing to bet that he's totally oblivious to all we're saying (as evidenced by his second post of this thread). I tell you, if he didn't exist, someone would've made up a character like him for some zany TV show.Pasta67 wrote:Man, I bet Alan is really regretting making this topic now.
Like Pasta said, join the club. I've been protesting against them for ages.Lazario wrote:Well I think all that sounds supremely ridiculous
If you're asking why he might be regretting making the topic, I said that because he made a topic asking which DVD he should get, we answered his question, and then made about 20 post critizising (sp?) the way he buys DVDs.Lazario wrote:Why?

yeah, it started out as a joke, but as you begin to read it, you'll be able to tell who's joking and who isn't.
At the rate we're going, I won't be surprised if the slipcovers become worth more than the DVD's to future collectors. . .
They are referring to the cardboard sleeve. They're not insane--despite all the joking that Pasta and I do that subtly refer to craziness/silliness on their part.Lazario wrote:Are you and Alan totally confused about what a slipcover is? I mean, you don't just mean COVER ART do you? Because that's cool and all, but you just CAN'T be referring to that little piece of cardboard sleeve over the DVD case- right... I mean, you're not insane are you?
Hard to believe, isn't it? Yes, they're talking about the actual slipcover. Even if they did mean the cover art, what difference does that make? That's just as shallow as just buying it only for the slipcover.Lazario wrote:Are you and Alan totally confused about what a slipcover is? I mean, you don't just mean COVER ART do you?
