I think we'd run out of Ghibli movies by wave 5, but like MickeyMousePal said, wave 3 is coming soon.

So I would think the disney versions of the DVDs are better than any other versions?

It's a goldmine, man. The only thing on the second disc on all of them is the whole movie in storyboard form. Not much of a second disc.

I don't think it matters who released it. Princess Mononoke had a pretty solid DVD release under Miramax. It doesn't have a slipcover, but it has exceptional audio and video (widescreen!) quality, a japanese track, but it's lacking in bonus features. It's the movie that matters, right?

I don't usually buy DVDs that have one disc. I generally LOVE bonus features, so I usually buy 2-disc sets.

Princess Monokoke is part of the Disney deal.

I can here the Ocean Waves was also added after the original deal. So wave 5 could be three movies.

The only movie that is not part of the deal is Grave of the Fireflies which is available from Central Park Media.

Princess Mononoke probaly won't be released again, seeing as Miramax and Disney are both associated with each other. Aren't the Disc 2 special features on the Ghibli discs just sketchs of the whole movie and a Japanese special? I hardly watch those anyway...

I bought Mononoke last week at Best Buy BTW, great sale.

There are many one-disc DVDs (Disney and non-Disney) that have an ample supply of bonus features (yet no slipcover, so no hope to be bought by Alan).

And by contrast, the Miyazaki sets that are two discs are rather light. All Disc 2 offers is the movie in storyboards format, which if you get through, you deserve a medal!

I'll take a storyboard disc over a disc filled with stupid kids games & music videos staring the Disney channel's bigest stars anyday. I wish Disney would include a storyboard disc for there own movies.
