Gettin a nice dress or a fine suit when you go to a restaurant is not dumb at all. just imagine going to dinner to an Italian food restaurant with jeans and boots or a sport pants. . .

Getting dress up for McDonalds. Dumb, yes. But dressing for a nice resturaunt and/or family dinner at the resturant is called "being respectful".
