Snow White will be re-released but no date has been set. It also appears that it the Fantasia PE will be Fantasia/Fantasia 2000. That's what they wrote to me when I asked when Beauty And the Beast and Snow White will be re-released.

Although I already own Fantasia, Snow White and Fantasia I'm still going to buy the newer versions for curiousity, or maybe not if the covers are badly done. Fantasia PE is the thing I'm waiting for the most, I can't even think about that great movie restored and with plenty of nice extras! I just love PE's..

Yay!!! 2008!!

When it came out in 2001/2002, we didn't have a DVD player and my library doesn't have it anymore because some spoiled kid lost it.

Did you call Disney Customer Service? (1-800-723-4763) they'll replace it for you for like $6.95.
My Atlantis Collectors Edition broke, and they replaced it for free. They sent me a postage paid sticker, and i sent them my broken DVD free of postage. Then they sent me the new DVDs.

Game Stop is a store and don't they put their used DVDs online. You have to go to the store and actually pick it up. And not all Game Stops have these OOP Disney titles.

I have a Snow White PE to sell in "like new" condition if you're interested...O_o

Oh... it's just that they have an online site, I thought they might be an internet supplier. But, nevermind.

I ended up with a bootleg too, only its not too bad and will tide me over till I can get a genuine one. Audio commentary didn't work though :(

As Warner Bros are releasing a new "Ultra Resolution" DVD of the Wizard Of Oz in October this year I wondered whether Disney were planning another re-release of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs in readiness for the movie's 70th Anniversary or if they were planning a speial edition to coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the movie's first release in 2012?

I am not positive about this but Snow White was discontinued in 2002 so it will probably be 10 more years before it is out again. So, there will possibly be a 2012 release.

Snow White is currently scheduled for a release in October 2008.

There is already a thread here with information about the releases of the platinums and the 7 year cycle.

And one recent conference call specified that the moratorium period was being changed to 5 years, but that probably only applies to The Lion King and forward, and is as usual subject to change if Disney decides the current climate calls for a break with protocol!

When will the next Hi Def DVD release date for Snow White?

Does anyone out there know of the next release date for Disney's classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? No doubt it will be a Hi Definition version.

I wondered if it would be tied in with an anniversary of some kind like next years 70th or probaly 2012's 75th Anniversary!!

If the answer to that question was available, it would be listed here http://www.ultimatedisney.com/comingsoon.html

If anyone answers this question they are only guessing.

According to a source in this thread, it's coming October 2008 to Blu-Ray and regular DVD (supposedly).

Then again, that list could change now that Peter Pan was removed from the Platinum line and given a Spring 2007 release date.

I am surprised that Peter Pan was taken off the Platinum list. Though its still getting a release. Do we know if it will still be a 2 disc edition?

What's so great about Hi-Def? I have a Hi-Def TV, and some Hi-Def channels, but I couldn't see a difference in how the picture was. It just looked like regualr TV. Can someone please explain? Cause right now, when Blu-Ray comes out, I'm sticking with DVDs.

I was worried about the status of DVD's when hi-def and blue-ray come out, do you think they will make a big impact like VHS to DVD?
