Same here. If they are in the same house and plan ot watch it in the house, then ok, but take it out of the house? no way.

I've let one person borrow my DVD, she works w/my dad is really sweet, I got it back a few weeks later, perfect condition...

I loaned a PC game to another co-worker of my dad's, told he could have it and he gave it back anyway...

Nobody has asked to borrow any of my DVDs, but after hearing about possible worse case scenarios, I have no interest in lending any of my movies. 'Nuff said!

I Usuall Give It Yo ppl on the weekend and i get it back monday in good condition

do the same wit videogames an CDs cause me an my friend have ipods so i use some of his CDS

I lent out 3 dvds, 1 got scratched during a party & no longer works, 1 was lent out to a friend who lent it to someone else & they left it @ their gfs place & those two broke up so the dvd is lost forever cuz I have no idea who this girl is, & the last one was lent out SO long ago-that the people who I let borrow it swear they purchased it themselves- so fiance bought a new one for us.

From now on, those peeps are getting Blockbuster gift certificates for bday & holiday gifts-haha.

Nobody really asks to borrow my dvds, if they did then im not sure what id say. If i trust them and they know how i feel about my collection then i'll let them.

This even happens to video stores. I wanted to rent Brother Bear from a video store on DVD and it shows up in the computer but it's nowhere to be found on the shelves. The lady said that maybe the DVD got legs and walked out the door. She says it does happen. They had the VHS but not the DVD for Brother Bear.

It depends on the movie. For example, if somebody wanted to borrow any of my 7th Heaven DVDs, I'd ask them to watch it with me at a later time. That way I don't have to wait weeks and weeks and weeks to see Mackenzie Rosman when she was five years old and when Lucy Camden wasn't married and didn't have a baby.

Gone With the Wind: Four-Disc Special Edition
Singin' in the Rain: Two-Disc Special Edition
DVDs I Would Be Reluctant to Loan Out
Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone (misspelling?)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Easter Parade: Two-Disc Special Edition
All other DVDs depend on the person, except the following which I would almost gladly give away:
Mickey, Donald and Goofy in The Three Muskateers
Ella Enchanted
A Series of Unfortunate Events
Return of the Pink Panther

Most likely I wouldn't lend anyone any of my DVD's... I am not a big sharer anyway (the home video of me in the sandbox pulling my pail away from my friend while yelling "mine!" when I was two really is quite telling).

I do, however think I would loan any of my dvds to my friend who is also a HUGE DVD collector and Disney fan. She's let me borrow plenty of her DVDs before I started my collection and I know that she'd be incredibly considerate with them.

Other than that I don't think I'd let my own mother borrow them!

But seriously, you didn't enjoy the movie? I haven't seen it yet that's why I'm asking. I know that it didn't look particularly appealing to me when I saw the previews, but most people here have seemed to like it.

Not any more! I let some really good friends of mine borrow my 2-Disc set of the Toy Story movies for their kids. And they never gave it back! I havent bothered asking though because I figure the discs are probably scratched up. Plus, Toy Story is being rereleased this September!

Good thing it's being re-released, thats really ashame I know how bad I want this title and I would be extremely mad if that were to happen to me.

That's what got me to watch it. They were pretty close to the books, but the second Jim Carrey did his huge "funny" monologue as Count Olaf, I knew I hated it. I didn't even get to say if I wanted to buy it or not. My mom just came home with boxes of stuff from Costco and she bought it. It was such a waste of money.

Jim Carrey is usually hit or miss, but for the most part I feel his whole act has been played out. With that being said, I loved him in Bruce Almighty, Liar Liar, thought he was pretty good in The Trueman Show, and not bad in Man on the Moon. I just can't stand his wacky, crazy style most of the time.

I absolutely dispise just the thought of letting someone borrow my DVDs. I worry about them constantly. Just because I'm not rich enough to be able to afford to replace them.
